"Not fair." I mumble as I slumped down on my seat in the airplane, putting Mira beside me. Jun snickered.
"Hey, it's not my fault the plane is arranged in 3-3 seats." Jun told me from the other side. Robin was sitting beside the window and Jun beside him, the seat between him and the walkway still empty. I was sitting on the other side with Mira. She was beside the window, which meant, I had to sit in the middle, next to whoever it is that will come. That makes the distance between me and Jun two seats and the walkway! It's like we're not even on the same plane. I frowned and sank into my seat.
A boy nodded my way as he sat down beside me, placing his small bag by his feet. As his phone screen lit up because he got a notification, I recognized the writings on his phone.
"Hey, are you Chinese?" I asked. He faced me in surprise.
"Uh...yes?"
"Look," I started, smiling "Over there, that's my twin brother. He would really love to have a conversation with you. He knows Chinese. Sit next to him and I'll tell whoever was going to sit there to come here."
The boy looked at Jun, his eyebrows raised. "Identical."
"Yes." I grinned. "His name is Jun."
"He knows Chinese?"
"Yup."
"Okay." The boy got up and moved to the seat next to Jun. I watched as he said something, pointing at me. Jun's face instantly brighten as I recognized his lips moving in what I know as Chinese language. The boy seemed impressed. Robin snapped his head at Jun in surprise then looked at me. I just grinned and mouthed 'I know'.
As I leaned my head back on the seat, a man came and looked at the Chinese boy.
"Hey." I said quickly "Is that your seat? Sit here instead." I explained. The guy shrugged and threw his bag on top, slumping down beside me. He was wearing a leather jacket and black jeans. I didn't miss the tattoos on his fingers extending all the way until as far as I can see of his arm since his leather jacket was full sleeved. He had pitch black hair and his ear had at least 6 piercings. His lips were also pierced. I quickly looked away before he noticed that I was staring. Mira looked at him for a while before facing me.
"Chun?" She asked
"He's sitting over there with Robin."
"Ah," She got up and stepped on my lap like it was nothing, making me yelp in pain. "Chuun!" She called.
"Mira!" I hissed pulling her back on her seat. She peered up to see Jun who stopped talking to face her. He waved and she grinned, waving back.
"Chun, 'ello." She told me
"Yes, now sit down." I forced her to sit and tightened the belt around her. She groaned and tried to take it off. "Wait just for a while until the plane is in the sky, okay??"
'Dont make a lot of noise so that we don't disturb the man next to me' I signed.
Mira looked beside me then signed back 'Who'
'Someone who wants to ride the plane like us. Let's not upset him'
"Chem?" She asked
"No," I smiled "Jem is not the only person where we're going. Not everyone here is going to Whitby to see Jem."
"Were you just using sign language?" I heard someone say from behind me. I faced the slightly intimidating man.
"Excuse me?" I whispered
"Were you just using sign language with the little girl?"
"Ah, yes. She's...um, deaf. Used to be, I mean." I explained awkwardly. The guy next to me just scoffed and smiled, making me suddenly very confused. Nothing I said is funny or worth mocking, what's his deal?
