Darai's POV:
"What the fuck..." I look down at the objects at my front door. It was a red paint bucket and a brush. I looked around, until I saw something dripping from the side of my house.
I walk out entirely, and see that my house is covered in red paint. My eyes widen, and I let out the loudest scream I can muster.
Maria and Raul come out the house with each kid in their arms. "Darai, what's the matter what's wrong?" Maria says, scared.
"What the hell?" Raul says, looking at what I was looking at.
Maria looks shocked and starts to run back into the house.
Livid was an understatement. Who the fuck did this to my house?! I bet it was the same person that fucking destroyed my car and took my fucking son.
I walk back into the house and go get my cellphone. "Raul call the police please!" I yell from the top of the stairs.
I dial Drew's number, and I wait for him to pick up.
"...Hello..?" He says, confused.
"Drew. Someone fucking vandalized the house!" I say, anger seeping through me.
"What? What do you mean?! Are you okay?! Are the kids okay?!" He says, as I hear rumbling in the background.
"We're fine, but someone messed up the house, Drew." I say, massaging my temple.
"I'm on my way Darai. Did you call the police?"
"Yes."
"Okay, you all stay somewhere safe, I'm on my way right now."
I hung up the phone, and threw it on my bed. I went downstairs to go see where Maria and Raul were. I go into the living room and both of them are holding my babies. I go up to them and hold my hands out.
"I'll take them, come upstairs with me. Drew wants us in a safe place." I say. Maria hands me Damisi as Raul just holds on to Deion.
Drew's POV:
I speed over to the house after Darai called. To say I was scared for them was an understatement. Who the fuck would do that to my house first of all?
As I make it up to my driveway, I see that there are two police cars already parked. Darai is standing outside talking to the police in leggings and a large sweatshirt. I get out of the car and walk quickly to them.
Look at my fucking house.... It was covered in red paint, and the side of the house looked like it'd been burned.
As I walk over to Darai, a police officer stops me. "Sir, you cannot be here."
I look at him like he has 3 heads. "This is my house, now move!" I say angrily.
The police officer refuses to move, and we start to argue.
"What is going on?!" Darai yells over our arguing.
"I am trying to get rid of this trespasser ma'am" The officer says, glaring at me.
Darai sighs, then closes her eyes. "This is not a trespasser, sir. This is my husband. This is our home." She says lowly.
The officer looks at me, then apologizes quietly. He walks back to the other officers.
I look at Darai and see how stressed she looks. I pull her to me, and hold her for a moment. I didn't say a word.
She pulls off of me, and we walk into the house where Maria and Raul are trying to console our kids. They look over at us, and Damisi holds out her arms for me. I know it was for me, because she's a daddy's girl. Darai goes and picks up Deion, while I go get my sweet princess. I give her a kiss on the check as she cuddles into me.
"I want to know who is fucking with me. I cant keep living like this!" Darai says, trying not to scare Deion with her loud voice.
I bounce Damisi as I try to calm her down, and get her to sleep. Darai was right. First, someone took Deion, then someone paints our house? How much more can we take?
"Drew... I dont feel safe here." Darai looks at me.
"Why?"
"When Maria and Raul leave, I'm here on my own... Someone obviously is like.. After us... I cant protect both the kids by myself... Drew, you need to move back in... Or... We can stay at the condo with you? This house is too big to protect my children and I-"
"Calm down, Rai. I'll come home. The condo isn't the greatest in my opinion. We'll get cameras installed, and do whatever it takes to be safe."
She nods, and leans her head on my shoulder.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weeks had passed since the paint incident. Darai has been super paranoid, and she can barely concentrate. It's come down to me having to sleep in the same bed as her again to get her to relax. Not that I'm complaining, I miss sleeping with my wife.
Darai and I were now currently in bed sleeping, while the twins in their room asleep. All of a sudden both Darai and I are woken up to loud crashes, and the security alarm going off.
Immediately I jumped up and ran out the room. My first instinct was to go check on my kids. I need to make sure they're safe.
I feel Darai behind me, as she runs past me into the kids room.
"Oh my God!" She screams running towards their cribs. I fully walk in and see that their window is busted open. The kids are screaming at the top of their lungs, and she goes and grabs them both.
As I'm about to go grab Deion from her, we hear another crash coming from downstairs. I look at Darai as she has tears in her eyes. I push Darai out of the kids room, and I push her into our walk in closet. I take a blanket down from our top shelf, and I hand it to her.
"Stay in here with them. I'm going to lock the bedroom door. Do not leave no matter what you hear. If it sounds more dangerous, Darai... Call the police but DO NOT leave this closet. I need to make sure you all are okay."
"Drew, what about you?! I can't let you go down by yourself!" She cries.
"Darai, do you trust me?" I say, looking into her eyes.
She nods, and I wipe the tears from her eyes. "Then stay in here. I love you."
I get up, and walk out of the closet, closing and locking it from the outside. I go and lock the bedroom door. Before going downstairs, I grab the gun I hide in the linens closet, and quietly walk down the steps. As I get closer to the last step, I hear footsteps. Quickly, I hide behind a wall, without making a sound.
I see a silhouette of a person, and I'm immediately alert. I hear more crashing, and then I come from behind the wall, and start shooting.
The person immediately starts running, and I follow them, still shooting off my gun. "STOP!" I yell, as the person jumps through my back window. I go out and chase them, but they jump into a car and drive off.
I stop, and run back into my home. I go to the security camera to see who the fuck thought it was okay to break into my home, and almost harm my kids for the SECOND FUCKING TIME.
I look on the camera to see three people walking towards the door. I try to make out faces, but their masks make it hard. I keep looking until one person looks up at the camera. I start to get angry knowing exactly who that person was.
Juliet.
