I sighed nervously...Today was the day that after finally four years I was going to meet the parents of the love of my life Y/n. We've been together for four years and I only talked to her parents on the phone due to the fact that they lived in another state. I never had enough time to take off from work and fly over here until today.

Y/n chuckled and softly pressed her luscious lips against mine, giving me a sweet kiss which clamed down my nerves. For Y/n it was just a trip and visit her parents, she didn't knew about the fact that I wanted to ask for their blessings to marry her sooner or later. "It's okay Chris they love you, they just never had the chance to see you face to face", Y/n soothed me as we walked up to their front door.

I nodded my head and leaned in for one final kiss before Y/n rand the doorbell. A few seconds later her mother opened the door. They both shrieked before falling into each other arms. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I saw my love being so happy to be reunited with her mother again. One thing was sure, Y/n got all her beautiful curves from her mother.

They pulled away and Y/n gently pulled me by the arm, making me take a step closer to her mother. "Hi Ms Y/l/n, it's so good to finally meet your", I spoke while leaning in and greeted her with a hug and three kisses. "Wow you're really as handsome as Y/n described", Y/n's mother spoke with a little playful smirk on her face. "Ma!", Y/n whined while laughing. I laughed long. "It's good to finally meet you too Chris. You've kept my baby girl happy since four years so let's get comfortable in the living room and catch up", she smiled softly and stepped aside to let us in. I thanked her as she lead us into the living room, where Y/n's dad was sitting on the recliner while reading a book.

The second he looked up and saw Y/n, his eyes lit up and he dropped his book, stood up and embraced her in his arms. I stood next to Y/n's mother as we looked at them. When they both pulled back I took a step forward, cleared my throat and reached my hand out, "Sir it's good to finally meet your", I said as we shook hands. "Oh so polite Chris but just call us William and Yvette, you're no stranger to us", William said. (A/N: I used my parents name)

Yvette chuckled and ordered us to sit down and have a coffee to which we obliged. We spent the afternoon catching up, laughing and really had a great time. But at the back of my mind I couldn't stop thinking about asking them for Y/n hand. "Y/n honey don't forget to call nana and inform her that you're in town", Yvette reminded Y/n, to which she jumped up, took her phone and excused herself as she walked out of the living room and into the kitchen. Once she left the room I sighted and cleared my throat. "William and Yvette, I wanted to talk about something, well I wanted to ask you a question", I nervously spoke.

"Of course Chris go ahead", William spoke as their undivided attention was all on me. "I also came her to ask for your blessings because I planned to propose to Y/n", I exclaimed. Yvette and William had both a hesitant look on their faces. "Listen Chris", Yvette started sighing, "We love you, we really do you made our baby girl happy, but we saw the backlash you've been getting for four years for being an interracial couple.", William nodded to the words of his wife.

My heart clenched painfully in my chest, I felt like I had been punched to the stomach. This is not how thought the conversation would go. "We know that you love y/n", William began, I nodded my head at his statement, "But I'm afraid of what the media will do once you two get married. At the beginning of your relationship she used to call us crying because she was getting dragged through the mud, got harassed by paparrazis and got death threats on a daily basis. That is something I don't want to happen again", he finished while sighing.

"I promise you William and Yvette that I will protect Y/n form any harm. Yes the beginning of our relationship was rocky, but I made sure that she got left in peace after that, I filed a restraining order against the paparrazis so they can't come to close to Y/n, I made sure to remind her that she was beautiful and worthy so she would stop crying about the hateful comments she would receive, and I'm ready to do it all over again please", I begged them with a trembling voice.

"I promise that I will do anything to keep her happy, hell I've been doing it for four years and I love it, Y/n's the love of my life and it would mean the world to me if you would give me your blessings to ask her to marry me", I finished breathing heavily.

William and Yvette looked at me impressed, "Okay under one condition", Yvette spoke sternly. I nodded my head, "Anything", I responded. They smiled at my eagerness, "You'll love our baby girl forever and never hurt her", They both spoke at the same time.

"Promise?", Y/n voice interrupted us. Our heads snapped to where she stood. Y/n stood in the doorway between the kitchen and living room with tears brimming her eyes as she stared at me lovingly. I stood up and walked over to her, "I promise", I answered her while smiling before pressing my lips against hers.
