•Harry's POV•

Ever since Sarah told me she was pregnant, I had been on cloud nine.

However she had become somewhat distant and strange acting. She said today she had to go take care of something but didn't say what exactly it was.

After returning home she went into our bedroom for hours without a word, and only just now exited to speak to me.

"Harry, we need to talk about something."

"Okay, What is it? Is the baby okay?" I ask, concern laced in my voice.

"Yeah. Just- sit down okay, this is going to be a lot to take in."

"Um, okay..."

"Sit," She ushers.

"I'm sitting, I'm sitting," I tease, but she doesn't smile like she normally would. This must be something serious.

"I'm just going to start from the very beginning I guess."

"Beginning?" I said.

"Just let me talk."

"Okay."

"So...Nine years ago when I was still in school, I met a guy Jerome and we started dating. I was so in love with this guy but he wasn't perfect, yknow. My parents hated him and hated that I was with him and so they said when I turned 18 they weren't going to give me access to my trust fund because they thought Jerome would take it and spend it because they don't trust him. So after dating him for about 6 years, I "pretended" to break up with him for my parents, but they still didn't really believe it or trust me about it. But I really really wanted that money. So, I started going to church so I could meet a guy that my parents would approve of. You know, someone like you, a squeaky clean white Christian boy with no record or bad side," She pauses for a moment before continuing.
"I'm not sorry for what I did, but I am sorry that I had to use you to do it."

"I- I don't understand?" I say shaking my head I'm confusion.

"After I married you my parents were still a little hesitant to give me access to my funds. But after I told them I'm pregnant they signed over everything to me. That's where I was today, signing the final paperwork."

"This. No, no," I shake my head again. "This isn't you, Sarah. Y-you don't care about money."

"I'm sorry I had to use you, Harry, but I did."

"We- we can work through this, okay. We can do counseling or-"

"Harry you don't get it. I don't want to be with you."

"Are you even pregnant?" I ask.

"Yes."

"Is it-"

"I don't know."

"So you don't know if it's mine?"

"No."

"But it could be?" I ask.

"It's possible," she says. "But not likely," she pauses.
"My shits already packed up, I'm leaving in a few hours."

I almost didn't have the energy to say anything back, I was in utter shock.

"So that's it you're just... leaving me?"

She doesn't respond, but simply stands and exits into our bedroom, closing the door behind her. I hear it lock behind her, and I'm frozen in place.

Almost mechanically, I grab the keys from the ring and leave. I couldn't be here.

I knock on the door a few times before it opens.
