Coated with a thick, hardened sheet,
Calm waters lie still beneath the enduring cold.
Now hushed and silent, the flowing liquids linger within their earthy beds,
Trapped beneath a transparent, icy layer.Pacified, the waters resume trekking wherever they may go,
Still on an endless journey down the long, winding road.
Despite its new circumstance, the river does not express concern towards that frosty sheet of ice.Instead, it minds its own business like usual,
Any signs of temperament nonexistent.
The appeased waters resume down their designated path,
Slowly trickling into a beloved, spacious lake.In its unique, altered form, the water provides
A thrilling, special event meant to be enjoyed
By all whom dare to wear some cozy skates.
Age does not determine whom may partake in such a joyful session of play,
Since anyone can skate to their heart's content
In multiple, different ways.
