ACE

It had only been a day without Kade at school and I hated it. Everyone was treating me differently. Like I was sleeping with him just for a good grade. What kind of person did they think I was? Kade sleeps with me because I get good grades, not the other way around. Not really, even if I failed all my classes, there'd be no way Kade would be able to stay away from my ass.

I was barely able to focus on my classes with Alvy screaming for Kade. Thankfully, I was in the last class of the day.

Ace... I turned to look behind me, where I thought someone said my name, but I only saw a girl glaring at me. Ace, please. Please, you have to... the voice kept talking but it sounded like I was submerged underwater toward the end of the sentence.

I shook my head as the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. I picked up my books and started to walk out of the classroom but stopped when my books were slapped out of my hands. I looked up to see Jared standing in front of me. Beside him was Tiffaney, a cheerleader that constantly talked about Kade.

"Oops." Jared said, "What are you waiting for, fag, pick up your books. I know you like to be on your knees." He grinned smugly as he looked at Tiffaney.

"Wow, Jared. A new insult. Is Tiffaney helping you with the new words?" I said while crossing my arms.

"Shut up whore!" Tiffaney snapped. "I know you seduced Kade into fucking you. Disgusting freak!"

Alvy growled in my head at her. She shouldn't get to call him by his name. I took a breath to calm myself, so his anger didn't show.

"Believe me Tiffaney, I hardly had to convince him. Just like how I didn't need to convince him last night or this morning. We have a child together, so I'm pretty sure our fucking isn't going to change any time soon. Go ahead and tell people, maybe if you spent more time studying and less time with the football team, the teachers would believe you. You talking people into bullying me isn't going to change the fact that I'm the one in his bed at night, not you. So, get the fuck over yourself and get the fuck out of my way Tiffaney." I picked up my books and shoved my way past them, both were too shocked to say anything else as I walked away.

I smiled as I stepped out of the school when I saw Kade's car in the back of the parking lot. Since he was fired, we decided to have him pick me up at the school instead of the library. It was less work on my feet, plus it meant getting home faster, which meant more time with Aiden.

"Hello, love. How was school?" He asked making my brows come together.

"Does our age difference make you uncomfortable?" I asked as I turned to face him in my seat.

He gave me a confused look and asked. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that you pick your boyfriend up from high school every day. Doesn't that make you uncomfortable?"

"Well now that you pointed it out." he tried to joke but I glared at him. "Listen, Ace. For my people, age doesn't matter. If the moon goddess paired us, then so be it. She wouldn't have done it if big age gaps were bad, she doesn't make mistakes. As long as we are both consenting adults before intimacy then everything is fine." I nodded as he finished, "Besides, our case isn't the biggest age gap by far."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean I heard of a case where one found his mate at his best friend's son's birth."

"Who was it? A young nurse?"

"The son." He said simply causing my jaw to drop. "In cases like that, it's up to the Alpha to decide. Keep the two apart until the child is, well, isn't a child anymore. Or let the man stay close and help raise his mate. Before you say anything if I were to ever decide such a thing. The man would be allowed scented items from his mate to keep him sane, but he couldn't be in his mate's life until they can know who he is on their own. I don't think it's right for someone to help raise a person, then be with that person romantically and intimately."

"That's understandable but what if the man can't stay sane with just scents? You gotta have a game plan for that right?"

"I do but let's leave that for another time. We're home." I looked out the window and saw the packhouse.

Ace... please...

I looked at Kade. "Did you say something?"

He shook his head as he got out of the car.

Weird, maybe we should talk to Aeson. But don't tell Kade. He and Conan might worry, and it could be nothing. Alvy said I nodded in agreement as I got out of the car.

We can go see them tomorrow. Today I just want to hold Aiden. Alvy nodded in agreement at the thought of our pup.

I smiled over at Aiden who was on his cooking stool. After his nap we decided to bake some chocolate chip cookies, well we were supposed to be, someone was eating all the raw dough.

"Hey, you," I said playfully as I poked his belly. "You're supposed to be putting that on the tray, not in your tummy."

"But it's yummy Daddy!"

I smiled down at him, "How about we bake these and make some more cookie dough that you can eat?" I asked while rubbing his back.

Aiden cheered as he started loading the baking sheet with globs of cookie dough. I started to get the ingredients together to make some edible cookie dough.

Dad...

I turned to Aiden, but he was still focusing on the baking sheet.

We really need to talk to Aeson. I thought.
