Mari's POV

Gerard said he'd take me somwhere special today! I can't wait...maybe because the person taking me is like, the person I've had a crush on since kindergarden, I don't know why it didn't go away yet... I wonder if he has a crush on me too... I mean, we've been bestfriends for as long as I can remember....pshhh what am I talking about? There are plenty of other prettier girls, why would he go for me... but, he did choose me as his bestfriend, i mean, that must mean something, right?

*knock**knock* 

The knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts...

"Who is it?"

"It's meee!!" Gerarrrdddd!"  

"Coming" I smiled to myself shaking my head

I opened to an overly excitedly Gerard, he looked adorable to be honest...

"sooooo... you ready?"

I nodded ,smiling

He moved sideways to show me what he was going to drive...  It was a slightly old, blue pick-up truck.. It wasn't much, but I thought it was okay..

"Sorry it isn't much... It's what I could afford.." he said shyly

"Don't be sorry, Gee. Anything is perfect if you're there." Wait! Did I seriously say that? Ugh.. stupid stupid 

"Awesome!! C'mon. now.. Don't want to waste time, now don't we?" he said grabbing my hand, running towards the truck.

"You ready, Mari!"

"Yeah! Let's gooo!"

"Alrighty then"

We were halfway down our destination... I think... Gerard wouldn't tell me where we would go, sooo... yeah.. The truck broke down, it was even nighttime when it did.. I was actually really scared of the dark, like seriously... so I started panicking, I was fanning myself to help me cool down. Gerard saw me and he immediately wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer, his scent radiating off of him, and it honestly made me feel better.. 

We hugged in silence for a few awhile, but it was really uncomfortable since the gearstick was between us... After a few seconds, he pulled me back (A/N is that even right? xD sorry idek)

"Do you want to go out? I mean, so you're more comfortable and you can get more air."

I shook my head, tears falling from my eyes.. I don't actually know when or why my fear got this bad. 

"Hey, c'mon.. I'm here, okay? Nothing to worry about. I won't let anything hurt you."

I looked at him as if saying "Promise?"

"Promise."

I breathed in d finally spoke.. "Okay.. I trust you, but..."

"But?"

"My legs won't let me move.."

"That's not a problem! I'll carry you!!" he said without hesitation.. 

Before he even gave me the chance to answer, he opened his door, went to mine (opened it, of course) and just lifted me with ease.. I didn't struggle to let him let me go anymore.. I shut my eyes, and I felt that he put me down somewhere and heard footsteps..

"Gee? Gee! Please don't leave me!!" I struggled with keeping back the tears, but managed to keep them down

I heard him (or his feet actually) ran and laid down next to me.. He placed his arms around my neck, and I wrapped mine around his torso. He kissed my forehead and started stroking my hair. 

"Mari, could you do me a favor?"

"s-sure..."

"Open your eyes and look up.."

"N-no.. What i-if... if there's s-somet-thing-"

"Everything's gonna be okay. Okay?"

"O-okay..."

I slowly opened one eye, followed by the other.. I wasn't disappointed with what I saw.. There were hundreds and hundreds of beautiful stars. It actually made me stoppe crying.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Gerard commented

"Yeah..."

"Mari?"

"Hmmm?" I turned to look at him

"I want to let you know that I always want to be able to be with you, to protect you and keep you in my arms. I've known you for a long time and... I just... I.."

"C'mon, Gee.. Just say it"

"Mari, I am in love with you.. This whole thing was my plan, the car "breaking down", if you even noticed, the backtrunk, the one were lying in has all these pillows and blankets and flowers-"

"You did this on purpose?!?! You know how much I hate the dark and how I react to it!! Why?!"

"Because I want to be the one who will protect you from it.."

"Y-you mean-"

"Yes, Mari... I'm asking you to be my girlfriend..."

I went on top of him showering him with kisses, smiling brightly with each one..

"I'll take that as a "yes"" he smiled

There you go! Hope you guys liked it.. I exaggerated her fear of the dark tho xD.. forgive mee

I actually do have a fear of the dark, idek why.. anyway... I'll keep trying to update as much as I can
