Today is the day we have the big governor showdown. Either he's going down or we are going down. I pack up all my stuff from my cell into a duffel bag. I go outside and put my bag into the back of a car.

"Alright here's the plan." Rick says. "Hershel, Carl, Anna, and Judith, are going into the woods to hide. Glenn and Maggie, you stay here with the riot gear and your gonna draw them out. Michone, Daryl, Carol, and myself will stay here and jam their guns."

"Whoa holdup." Carl says. "I am not going into the woods to hide. I'm staying here with you to fight." He says to Rick.

"You are going into the woods and that's final. I mean it Carl." Rick says.

Carl glares at everyone. Maybe I can help.

"Carl we really need you to come with us." I say in a sweet voice. His face softens for two seconds, but then the cold mean Carl face is back.

"You can take care of yourself." He snaps at me. "You're not my problem."
Whatever.

"That is exactly why I won't let you come with us today Carl." Rick says raising his voice a little. "You're still a child."

An awkward silence fills the air, and I just look at the ground.

"Well we better be going." Daddy says.

Carol hands me Judith and her diaper bag. "Take care of her." Carol whispers to me.

"I will." I reassure her. I think in a way Carol looks at Judith as her daughter.

I hug Maggie and I whisper in her ear, "Good luck out there."

I get in the front seat with my Daddy and Carl sits by himself in the back, his face a bright red.

We drive far enough into the woods that we can still see the prison, but we can't be seen. I wrap Judith up in a blanket because it's freezing and I sit cross legged on a blanket on the ground, and I play with Judith.

Daddy sits on the back of the truck. Carl walks around for awhile with his gun out looking for walkers. After awhile he comes and sits down without saying a word. We sit in awkward silence for awhile, and then we hear the sound of loud truck engines.

We watch as the people of Woodbury tear down one of the fences and disappear into the prison. I realize that I have been holding my breath, so I slowly let it out.

We continue to wait for a few minutes, and I focus on my breathing.

Shots are fired and the Woodbury people run out of the prison, while Glenn shoots at them. I don't see Maggie for a minute, but then she pops up from the bridge and shoots at them.

A rustling sound comes from our right, and Carl and Daddy jump up with their guns pointed. A teenage boy, maybe around seventeen, emerges from the woods.

"Whoa, whoa, don't shoot!" He says, with panic and fear written all over his face.

"Drop your weapon, son." Daddy says, and the boy begins to lower his weapon.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Jody." he says, and I offer him a small smile

"Were you with the Governor?" Daddy asks in a somewhat angry voice.

"Yes, but I didn't want to be. He made me join his army and-" Carls bullet goes through Jody's head before he can finish the sentence.

Carl turns toward us and I stand up and slap him on the face as hard as I can, and he looks shocked.

"What is wrong with you?!" I shout at him.

"He was with the governor!" Carl says.

"Who cares! He wasn't a threat! He didn't even want to be with him!" I yell.
