When Daryl slaps a checker board down on the table beside me, it warms my heart. I can't even explain it. Shawn and I used to play checkers all the time.

"Is this a challenge?" I ask playfully.

Daryl looks almost shocked at my new found attitude.

"Maybe." He says 'innocently'.

"Challenge accepted." I say and grin.

He sits down across the table from me and we begin setting up the board.

I cross my legs underneath me and make the first move.

"What's going on here?" Michonne asks . Lately I've noticed that's she's really come out of her shell.

"Just beating Anna at checkers." Daryl says. But he loses his concentration and makes a dumb move, and I double jump him.

"Damn it!" He shouts.

I laugh at him.

"Did I ever mention that Shawn and I were obsessed with checkers?" I say as I make another move.

He doesn't answer me because he's trying to concentrate.

Michonne sits down beside him and shows him a good move.

"That's two against one, no fair!" I protest.

"Ok ok, I won't help him again." Michonne laughs.

I have three kings now and he has one, and we're having a battle.

When I trap his last guy he flips the board over in aggravation and I laugh.

"Daryl, can you come out here? I need you to see something." Rick says walking in the front door.

"Rematch tonight." Daryl says as he follows Rick out the front door.

I hear Judith start crying from her room. I bring her to the table and feed her a bottle while Michonne cleans her sword.

And then Judith throws up all over my shoulder.

"Ugh!" I say in despair. "Can you take her?" I ask Michonne but she shakes her head.

"Please! I have throw up all over me!" I say.

She reluctantly holds her arms out
for her and I run up the stairs. I basically rip my shirt off of me, and I start gagging. I can not handle throw up.

Then I realize that I don't exactly have another shirt. Crap.

I sit down on the bed, making myself calm down about the throw up. I then dart across the hallway to Rick and Carls room. Luckily no one is in there so I steal one of Carls shirts, a plaid one.

I finish buttoning it as I walk down the stairs.

I rush back to the kitchen to take Judith back, but I skid to a halt when I see Michonne hugging Judith and crying. I've never seen Michonne cry before. I've seen her look upset, but never cry.

I back up and go to the other room for a few minutes until I hear her stop crying, and then I go back in acting like I didn't know.

"Thanks." I say as she hands me Judith.

She glances at my shirt and gives me a questioning look.

"Didn't have another shirt." I say acknowledging Carls shirt.

"I'll look for some clothes for you tomorrow." She says.

"Thanks." I say smiling at her.

I bounce Judith on my knee and push the shirt sleeves up. It's quite hot out today, probably 80-90 degrees. This shirt is so hot. I bunch it up at the bottom and use the hair tie on my wrist to tie it up. I open the top button too.

"I'm so hot." I complain.

"I kind of like the heat." Michonne says.

"I don't mean to be intrusive or anything, but did you have a baby?" I ask softly. Why did I just say that? Now I feel bad, and I've probably upset Michonne.

"I'm sorry." I say but she shakes her head.

"I had a son." She says sadly.

I nod my head. "What was his name?" I ask her.

"Andre." She says smiling widely at me.

I think it's the start to a bond I never had with Michonne.
