After everything happened last night, Daryl and the others finally returned with the medicine. Everyone has been taking it, besides me because I don't really need it, and almost everyone is starting to feel better.
Daddy and I talked to Rick again, and he said that last night the fence came down. Rick and Carl killed all the walkers that got in, but the fence is in bad condition.
"Did you ask Carl to come visit me?" I had said while biting my lip.
"Yeah, I did." Rick said, sighing. "He's really busy right now." Rick said and rubbed his temples.
"Oh ok."
Daddy and Rick had kept talking after that but I went back to my cell.
Anyways, Daddy says that today I can leave, because I feel almost all the way better and I'm not contagious anymore.
I pick up Carl's gun, which I still have, off the dresser and tuck it into my belt on my pants.
Maggie brought me a change of clothes yesterday, and I took a shower. The clothes Maggie brought me were definitely more Maggie's style than mine, but they're cute. A pair of long cargo pants with a black belt, and a white v-neck shirt.
I make the bed in the cell making sure to perfectly smooth out the wrinkles in the blanket. I slide my old black boots that I always wear onto my feet and tie the laces, and then I pick up the empty water bottles off the nightstand.
I walk out the door, and finally out of cell block 'D'.
"Welcome back, stranger." Rick says as I walk out through the broken glass wall. I smile at him.
"You're gonna stay with the kids just for now, ok?"
I nod and follow Rick out the door. He leads me through the tombs for a little ways until we come to a room I've never been in, that has the words 'Wardens office' on it. Rick knocks on the door a few times until the door opens to reveal Carl.
It's been five days since I last saw him, but somehow, he looks different. His usual bright blue eyes look darkened and his face looks older. Carl simply where's a pair of jeans with the purple plaid button up shirt that I steal from him sometimes, his sherif hat sitting perfectly on his head.
I only look at him for a second before I give him a wide smile. Before I can stop myself I step forward, wrapping my arms around him for a hug. Instead of hugging me back though he kind of shakes me off.
I can feel my cheeks turn red at the rejection. What was with that?
"Anna's not sick anymore so she's gonna stay with you now. Find her a room to stay in, ok?" Rick tells him.
Carl doesn't really respond, he just kind of nods his head. Rick leaves and shuts the door behind him and an awkward silence fills the room.
I look at the ground a little and realize Carls gun is still sticking out of my belt still. I pull the gun out and hand it to him.
"Here. I never got the chance to give this back to you."
Carl nods his head, still not saying anything. He walks through the door on the other side of the room, so I follow him. I struggle to keep up with him as he speed walks through the tombs and to a long hallway of rooms.
The kids are scattered all around, playing some kind of game. Carl walks along the hall, looking through the rooms.
"I guess you're gonna have to share with me." Carl says, coming back over to me. "All the other rooms have two or more people in them."
