"Please just give him one more chance?" Rick pleads with me.
"I guess." I finally agree.
Why does Rick even want me to share a cell with Carl?
We've been in the garden since after breakfast harvesting all the potatoes we grew. Not a fun job. Rick once again pushed the shovel into the ground and turns up the dirt, and I quickly pick up all the potatoes that were hidden there and put them into large paper bags.
We do this until the sun sets and it's getting hard to see. By now my back aches, I'm covered with dirt, and my stomach is growling so much it hurts, but the almost 50 bags of potatoes for the winter is my reward.
I go into the prison and grab a clif bar for now, because I'm to dirty to eat just yet. Daryl actually managed to fix the showers today so I grab a set of clothes and a towel and I take a shower.
The warm water feels like heaven. I slowly scrub the layers of dirt, sweat, blood, and filth from my skin and hair. I stand in there for a few extra minutes and final get out and get dressed.
I head towards the kitchen after that, and to my delight, Carol has made stew for dinner. I eat by myself at the table and Maggie sits down for a few minutes to talk to me, because I haven't seen her since this morning.
"You know what I was thinking Anna?"
"What?" I ask her.
"We should make a schedule that has what needs to be done on it, so the Woodbury people do things to."
"That's actually a pretty good idea. Why don't you talk to Rick about it." I suggest.
"Talk to me about what?" Rick asks, coming into the kitchen.
"Well, we were thinking that we should make a big schedule on the wall of what needs to be done that day. You know like taking watch, going on runs, and that way the Woodbury people know what needs to be done and they can help us." Maggie explains.
"I think that actually sounds like a pretty good idea. And we can assign one of us to each job so they know what they're doing." Rick says, nodding his head and rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"I think that sounds pretty great." I say.
"Why don't we call a meeting right now?" Maggie asks.
"Alright. You and Anna go find everyone while I finish eating." He says, before shoveling another bite of stew into his mouth.
I get up and I begin by going to Judith's nursery/cell. There I find Carol.
"Ricks calling a meeting in the kitchen." I tell her.
"Ok. Be right there." Carol says.
Then I go to Carl's cell.
"Your dad is calling a meeting in the kitchen." I tell him, lingering in the doorway. He nods. Maybe this is a good time to talk to him.
"And I've decided to keep being roommates with you." I say, cringing slightly at how prissy my words sound.
Carl looks up in shock. "Really?" He asks. I shake my head yes.
"Now come on." I say, and we walk to the kitchen together.
Rick explains what's going on to Carol, Glenn, Daddy, Michonne, Carl, and Daryl, and they all agree with him. I end up getting assigned babysitting duty for tomorrow, and we make a huge schedule on the wall with a piece of chalk, because it will easily wash off.
We all then head off to our cells, but Rick makes Carl stay behind to talk to him.
I get in bed and think of all that's happened today. Should I ask Carl why he was in my bed? Maybe he was sleep walking or something. Nah I think I won't.
