The thought of board games drifted from the minds of the young girls. They became busy, indulging themselves in the final, small batch of cookies and the few cup-fulls of crock pot hot chocolate. They sat in the large living room, next to the huge crystal glass window that overlooked the lake. It had been a while since they had last spent any time with one another, so they decided to catch up on the gossip.

"So," Pomegranate said, looking at Sam with her eggplant- purple eyes. "Did you know that there's this guy that's graduating from our high school that is TOTALLY in love with you?!"

Despite her shyness, Stona was desperate to hear about this boy who was completely infatuated with her best friend. She loved gaining knowledge about others through gossip. It was one quality of her that she couldn't hold back, despite her social anxiety.

"You mean Kyle Landon?" Sam asked, rolling her chocolate-brown eyes, letting out a disgusted sigh. She didn't even know the guy personally. She had just heard about him from one of the girls she graduated with. Her brother was still in high school, and knew Kyle pretty well. Kyle. There Kyle was, hooked onto a great attraction for Sam, without even having talked to her once. He probably knew her like the back of his own hand, which would be alarming to anyone. It was disgusting to know that it was most likely because of her body that another guy lusted over her. Sam just wished she could somehow alter her body just a little bit so she could turn all the creeps away. All she really wanted was a nice, young man who was pure gentleman.

"Yeah," Pomegranate nodded. "But you really don't know. Girl, he's sooooo in love with you. His sister, Jessica, goes to a different school, though. I'm friends with with her, and she found something extra sketchy in his bedroom closet relating to you."

The hair on Sam's head and tail stood up, and her ears were angled towards Pomegranate. Stona was now on the edge of the rocking chair she was sitting in, eager to hear what info that Pomegranate was going to drop.

"Well, are you going to spill the beans?" Her soft voice questioned.

Sam was getting an adrenaline rush. She desperately needed to know what was going on with this boy. She knew about all the boys at their high school who had wanted to get with her, but they didn't matter anymore, because she knew them all, and she was off at college. However, this Kyle Landon guy? She didn't know him. She didn't know him one single bit. Perhaps it was so, because he was a year behind her in school and all the other freaks that wanted her had graduated with her and had moved on to bigger, and ultimately, better things, after they took a second guess and finally saw that Sam wasn't the girl they truly wanted.

Kyle Landon was an 18 year old boy who was a grade behind Sam, making him a senior in high school, due to Sam being a freshman in college. He was some kid who had just moved from another school district the year Sam had been a senior. It wasn't known by everyone, and was mostly rubbed off as rumors, that Kyle Landon would stalk all the girls that he was attracted to. He had been kicked out of his old school which he had to transfer from because he was stalking girls as they went into the locker rooms. With the bad luck she had, it just so happened to be that Sam was the first girl he had latched onto. All the sex-crazed boys in high school in the same grade as Kyle was, had learned from the boys wanting to hook up with Sam in her grade that Sam was the one they were all crazy about. To Sam, it felt like a curse and such a crazy situation, because she was a) a "freak" by genetics, an b) a social outcast.

"Well, Jessica told me that he has a shrine of you in his closet. There's loads of photos of you everywhere. It's littered with pink cotton that he keeps in reminder of your pink pajamas," Pomegranate said.
