"Mmmmm, Sam! These chocolate cookies are the best I've ever tasted!" Pomegranate said, licking the cookie crumbs from her lips.
"Thanks!" Sam said with a giggle, taking a sip of hot chocolate from her coffee mug. Her long, blue tail curled as the warm liquid soothed her throat. "It was also a good idea to make crock pot hot chocolate."
"It sure was!" Pomegranate agreed with a smile. She took one of the cookies she had, and dunked it into her mug of coco. The cookie slightly fell apart and sank to the bottom of the mug.
There was a sudden creak of the door, and the next thing the two girls knew, Sam's older brother Samuel had entered the house. Samuel was dripping wet, but a large towel hugged his body. He looked incredibly sexy. His body was a slight red, and his muscles protruded from his body. The endless waves of blue that was his hair, was pulled back in a way that could make any young girl drool. He had spent some time out in the hot tub that claimed it's stake on the large back porch. Wasting away so much time in the heated waters, letting the jets soothe his aching muscles was his favorite past time. He had spent so much time in there, that Sam had forgotten he was out there.
"Hello, ladies," Samuel said with a smile.
Pomegranate could feel her heart skip a beat and the freckles on her cheeks were soon accompanied by a hint of red. Ever since she had met Samuel, she had fallen in love. It was a stereotypical love-at-first-sight moment. Despite having the most giant crush on her best friend's brother, Sam was never able to catch the hints that Pomegranate gave off in regards to her look-alike brother. One of her flaws was that she was always so naive.
"H-hey, Samuel," Pomegranate said with an awkward smile.
"Hey, big brother!" Sam said in delight. "Would you like to join us for some cookies and hot chocolate?" she offered.
Samuel nodded, his cat ears bouncing with the movement of his head. "Of course I'd love to join you two ladies for some cookies and coco. You know how much I love chocolate!"
"Let me get you some, then," Sam stated, scooching herself off of the bar stool that she had sat herself upon. She went over to the cabinet and pulled out Samuel's favorite coffee mug, and grabbed the cookie tray from over by the stove. "Here you go!" she said in delight, as her brother looked down at the tray of cookies, licking his lips.
Samuel stood there for a couple seconds, thinking about which cookie he wanted to eat.
"Aren't you going to eat one?" Pomegranate questioned Samuel.
"Why yes," Samuel stated. "I just don't know what cookie I want. Maybe I'll be able to think clearer after I rid myself of the smell of chlorine and wet hair," he joked.
"Yeah, come join the pajama party!" Sam stated with a giggle. "It will be a girl's party only, once my last friend gets here."
Samuel averted his eyes to his sister. "I thought you were only having her over," he said, nodding towards Pomegranate.
"No," Sam said, shaking her head. Her blue, wavy hair swiveled around her head like a halo. "Just one more friend," she insisted.
Pomegranate's heart beat had skipped even more when Samuel had acknowledged her. It was like every teenage girls' dream: to be noticed by a pretty boy.
"Alrighty," Samuel said, turning to head out of the kitchen to go upstairs. "I'll be right back, ladies. I'm going to get cleaned up for the night. Then I will come join you. I want to join the pajama party while I still can."
"Okay," Sam said, with another nod of her head.
"See you soon," Pomegranate said, a slight crack to her voice. She was afraid that her best friend would notice, but luckily, she didn't.
Samuel's footsteps were booming as he jogged up the stairs. Sam was always annoyed by this, because it was normally a thing Samuel did to indicate he was home. Upon his noisy arrival, he would proceed to his room and make more noise by playing his bass guitar. No matter what Sam did, she could never drown out the endless failures of songs Samuel would try to write.
"I'm glad Samuel will join us for a bit," Sam said, cheer in her voice.
Pomegranate nodded, and her ponytail bounced. "Me too," she said, taking a sip of her marshmallow-ridden hot coco.
The two girls leaned against the kitchen table countertop and sipped on coco as they waited for the handsome, young cat boy to return.
