Danielle’s POV

I heard a string of beeps and blearily opened my eyes. It looked like I was in a hospital room. But why? I heard a hushed voice coming from the right of me, and turned my gaze to there. Arianna was standing there, talking to someone on the phone. I strained my ears and caught the last part of her conversation.

“I don’t care if you’re recording, you better get your ass here right now, Liam,” she whisper-yelled into her phone. She sounded mad…

I cleared my throat as she hung up and her head snapped towards me.

“Dani, you’re up!” she squealed and ran over to give me a gentle hug. I grinned.

“No, I’m still asleep,” I joked.

“Of course,” she laughed.

“What happened?”

“You were in a car accident, the stupid driver turned on a red light and hit you, and yeah, the car behind you called the hospital and stuff. Then they called me, and I came over,” Ari explained.

“When?”

“Last night actually,” she gave me a small smile, and my jaw dropped.

“You slept here?”

“Yeah.”

“Arianna, you didn’t have to do that!”

“Of course I did,” she playfully smacked my arm, “The doctors got pretty mad, but after a while, they said I could stay,” she smiled, and I laughed. The girl’s happy-go-lucky attitude was extremely contagious. Like Niall’s. No wonder they made such a perfect couple.

“That’s great… So...” I trailed off, and my gaze flickered to the rest of my body, scanning for any sign of injury. I noticed a cast on my leg, and felt a dull ache in my chest, but other than that, there was no sign of injury.

Arianna followed my gaze to my leg, and her smile faltered the slightest bit.

“Does it hurt?” she asked in a sweet and concerned tone. I shook my head.

“Is it broken?” I asked, and she nodded.

“Yeah, the doctors said you got away with nothing too bad, really just a broken leg. They were a bit worried, ‘cause you were unconscious, but that’s it really. And your leg should heal in a couple of weeks, so you have nothing to worry about,” she beamed, and I laughed a bit, her attitude was so positive.

On first sight, you wouldn’t be able to tell that she had just experienced what could very well have been the hardest year of her life. But then again, she also got an amazing boyfriend, and became famous, so I guess it balanced out.

I thought about my injuries, well, injury, again and realized that meant I wouldn’t be able to dance until it healed. At least it would heal soon.
