"Push east! We still have a ways to go!"

As the sun leapt high in the sky, figures moved under its heated gaze. Sitting in a massive, dusty van were some gorillas and chimps. The top of the van was completely gone, as if ripped off, providing a view above. And, the vehicle was moving. There was no gas though, and none knew how to drive. The method of movement was pulling. Tied by ropes, pulling the group of vehicles like the animals they were, were humans. Adults, and even children. Babies were being carried by the elders.

Sitting in the front seat of the van, looking out ahead, was a gorilla in particular. Sitting up, one hand in his lap, the other resting against the dashboard of the van, which had the seats and such removed to better fit more apes. Yawning, he looked over at the chimp who raised his hands.

'We will be there in two days. The scouts just returned. Seems there was a fight.'

The gorilla hummed, scratching his side. "Were there any humans killed?"

'No. The snake is poisoning him. He has two humans in his tribe.'

Tilting his head, he tsked. "That can be easily fixed. We kill this... king, and then we liberate our currently potential ally." He waved his hand, and watched as gorillas on foot pulled out whips, some real and some makeshift. They started cracking the whips on the humans, snarling for them to keep moving or speed up. The leader smiled slightly, chuckling as they grunted or cried out in pain. "Resilient creatures," he snorted. "But scum nonetheless."

'Why keep them around?'

He sighed, shaking his head. "Because they don't deserve the easy way out of death. It's much more fun, and useful, to have them serving their superiors. Never forget that, Stag." What a shame that they were getting to their destination a bit late though. About a handful of years late. Just when they decide to make the move, humans are starting to be accepted there. No matter though. He would make him remember the old days, and their two groups would first conquer other apes, then the world of humans, and then the world worth conquering. A world where humans were nothing but slaves.

Looking over, he looked as an orangutan pulled up on a horse. 'The humans are requesting water. The last three cars are stopped because of them.'

Raising a brow, the gorilla grunted aggressively, and his van being pulled immediately stopped, which meant all the vehicles stopped. Getting out, he hopped down before reaching back to grab something. Shiny and silver, he looked down at the blade. A cutlass, thus his... new name. Though how he got it was a story for another day. Lumbering toward an open horse, he hopped on and let it carry him toward the back of the massive group within no time.

The tied-up humans were sitting. Protesting. When they saw him though, they fidgeted.

"What are you leeches doing?"

They were dirty, quiet and wearing old, scraggly clothes. Disgusting. Then, one finally spoke. "W-We need water at least. We're sweating oceans, we're tired, Martha can barely wal-" He shrank back when the gorilla dismounted, getting right up in his face. "Then you will either carry her or kill her." There was the option of abandoning her, but he didn't want to give humans the chance to breed without his permission.

"Please. You can't-" No one spoke when the blade was held to his throat. "I can do what I please, maggot. Best remember that." Taking the blade away, he stared at the post for a moment before turning away. "Get them some water." Getting back on his horse, he rode it back to the front of the group, knowing the humans would get moving quickly unless they wanted punishment. Once back in the van, the crack of whips had the caravan moving again.

He just wanted to get there already! His scouts had told him so much about this new ape. He who started a war against the humans. Finally, someone who took the reins like he did! Too bad their uprisings had been so far apart, thus not allowing them to know about each other. Until recently. Staying in one spot was foolish. Expanse was key for all conquest. That, and the effective spilling of your target's blood.

Things would change soon though. There were apparently no humans in the area they were headed. Not considerable amounts anyway, but once his own group was shown to them, the same fire from before would flare even brighter hopefully.

'What happens if he has changed for good?'

That had him laughing. "No one ever changes permanently. It can only be buried, and buried things can be dug up. I know our ally is down there somewhere, and if we have to dig him up then so be it. He'll enjoy it anyway. I have a hunch, Stag." For most apes, the smart ones, it was in their blood to hate humans. After all, all those vermin had done was experiment, torture and laugh at his kind. Use them for testing or even humiliating entertainment. However, he supposed he needed to thank them. After all, it was humans who made the gas and medicine that made him and many of his group smart. Made them more... aware. More away of their superiority. A foolish mistake of creation on the humans' part, but only foolish for the humans. For him? For apes? It was their big chance and liberation.

And take their chance they did. They also weren't the only ones to undergo the same miracle, much to his delight. His kind were finally on their way to taking back their home, which used to be theirs alone according to books. Humans were merely... invaders. Invaders that crawled up from the mud and claimed the world as theirs. And shame upon the other animals for letting them do it!

As the humans say though... karma is a bitch.

He had, for a long while now, been watching triumphantly over them as they worked for him. For the animals they tortured and humiliated for hundreds upon hundreds of years. It made him sick! The fact that he was making them pay all that back though... almost perfect. Almost. His goal was to expand his group, gain new allies and get revenge upon every human he saw. It was their punishment, and time long due to serve apes. The animals blessed with ability and chance to reclaim their superiority. And his uprising was glorious, though he had heard he was not the only one. He couldn't have been, as he knew there had to be more being tortured like him and his allies. Too bad it took so long to get organized and go meet them. Now, apparently, they were being poisoned by humans.

As he thought it all over, he remained quiet, setting his stolen weapon down and crossing his arms over his chest. For now, he just calmed himself with the sounds of birds and the occasional groan of straining humans. Perhaps he would get to add more to his collection upon arrival. His scouts had said they were young.

He liked them young.

His lips curled in a smirk, and he had the guards crack the whips again.
