Chapter 5- At Starbucks/5 P.M.

<Darren's Point of View>

I started to get ready to go meet Lauren at Starbucks. Good thing I took her umbrella. I got a free chance to see her again. She has this magical feeling that makes me think about her. How weird. Not one girl has done that to me in my whole entire life. Am I falling for her? No, that can't be. I can't have feelings for a person like her. It's just too unrealistic. I throw on some trendy clothes before I head out the door. Here we go.

It's just 2:57 when I enter Starbucks. Phew, I made it. I order a drink as I look around to find Lauren staring at me. Yikes, is she mad or something? When I get my drink, I walk up to Lauren and take a seat in front of her.

"Here's your stupid umbrella" I say in a manly-ish voice. Wow, I sound like a total idiot. She must think I'm just some dumb guy on the block.

"Thanks" Lauren said in a small voice that I could barely hear.

While Lauren was taking her umbrella back, she accidently touched my hand. I felt a weird tingly sensation circulating around my body. What? What the heck is this? Is my body reacting to her touch?

I looked at her in confusion and saw her flushed cheeks. Oh, she's blushing. SHE'S BLUSHING! Whoa, did she just blush because she touched my hand? This is gonna be a bit awkward.

"S-sorry!" Lauren said as she smiled sheepishly.

I have to admit. Damn, she's cute. No, she's adorable. Whoa, pause. Did I just call her cute? Adorable? I give myself a mental slap reminding me that I don't have feelings for her. Snap out of it, Darren! Lauren's nothing but a normal girl. She's not special.

"Darren. Darren!" Lauren's sugary voice snapped me back to reality. To my surprise, she started giggling like a child. Well, she must think I'm a total goofball.

"Yeah?" I said in a muffled tone.

"I'm gonna use the bathroom. Be right back" she said as left to the lady's room.

I just gave her a small nod.

This is my chance to go through her bag. I wonder what's in it...

With curiosity, I take a look in her bag. Hmm. Wallet,  perfume, lotion, mini toothbrush and toothpaste, a hand mirror and her phone. Her phone. That's what I needed.

Turns out, Lauren has the same phone as mine. Battery's out. That's good. I took my phone out  and placed it in her bag. She'll have to meet me again to get her phone back. I smirked and carefully slipped Lauren's phone in my pocket.
