"I hope I didn't ruin your therapy for you; the key to moving on is forgiveness" Gerald spoke to his son as he rang up the items with tears falling down his face; he knew what he had done was not acceptable but he also hadn't had help; he was suffering himself and that's why he let him free.
"The key to a childhood didn't involve being beat into unconsciousness, pee'd on, and whatever else." Quincy was furious; all he wanted was the childhood his brother was living; he could tell in the littles boys eyes he was truly happy.
"I'm sorry Quincy-"
"Have a nice day sir; hope not to see you again" With that Quincy gave him his bag and clocked out for the day; he didn't want to deal with his father and this new news of him having another child. He got in the car Dylan had tried to let him have; but Quincy insisted he paid car payments and drove off and he cried his way home.
He felt like a fuck up and failure because he couldn't get his dad to change; and yet another son could? He didn't understand what he'd did so wrong, and he felt himself becoming overwhelmed. It was like he was doing so good; then Gerald shows up and everything went back to how it was before.
Wiping his eyes he got out of the car and stepped into the house; hearing laughter from the living room he stepped in and felt his blood boil. As if his day couldn't get worse; he'd seen Taelynn and her ex Josiah from ninth grade on the couch and pretty close.
He didn't even know why he was mad; they weren't dating and all they did was kiss here and there. It's not like that was something important between them anyway, his dad ain't even want him so why would she? Deciding against making himself look stupid he walked right pass, and Taelynn frowned being he ignored her whole presence.
"Well hey to you too then" She yelled out, only for him to ignore her, she excused herself from her Bestfriend and went into the kitchen where Quincy was angrily making him a sandwich. "I did something wrong?" She asked and removed the ingredients from his hand and started to make it, how she always does when he got off of work.
"It's nothing; I can make it myself"
Taelynn sighed heavily; she didn't know what was wrong with him but she did feel some type of way he was being that way with her. "I can't fix it if I don't know what's wrong" She folded her arms and watched him angrily bite his sandwich, she chuckled and he looked at her before smiling. "Tell me what's wrong please?" She wrapped her arms around him and pecked his lips.
"I had a long day; and then you in here with your ex just ain't cool to me. I know we ain't nothing serious but damn; I guess I'm jealous" He shrugged and Taelynn looked at him and removed herself from him.
"What you mean nothing serious?"
"Yeah, ignore the fact you're too close with your ex?"
"For one; we dated in ninth grade and that apparently didn't work out. We've been Bestfriends since we were five; and that's all he is. My Bestfriend. Sorry if I offended you, but I mean if we're nothing serious then it shouldn't matter right?" She had became frustrated. She know after what had happened to her she wasn't ready for a relationship but she did think her and Quincy had something more than a friendship going on.
"It do matter; I'm waiting on you to be ready. I'm not going to rush you into a relationship this soon. You haven't even healed yet; no matter how much you think you have. You haven't" He sighed. "Come here" He pulled her into him and kissed her; how he always greeted her when he came home from work.
She blushed and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear; hearing Josiah clear his throat. "I can't wait until I speak with Dyl about this here" He joked and grabbed Quincy's plate; eating his chips and Quincy snatched his plate back.
"Nigga; you disrespectful. Don't touch my food"
"Y'all ain't about to start this; y'all never liked each other" Taelynn shook her head and fixed Josiah his own plate of chips, Quincy frowned and took those as well and added them to his plate. "He can fix his own" He smiled and ate a handful of the chips.
"First he take my girl; now he take my chips" Josiah joked. "I had both first, remember that" they all laughed, he was the class clown and real life a jokester, all the time.
Josiah and Taelynn never worked because she was literally always obsessed with Quincy; no matter what she said or how she used to lie; Josiah knew one day she'd have the courage to approach him and it took four years but he knew it would happen, so he saved himself the heartbreak and broke it off. He could admit he didn't like Quincy at first for that fact; but he got over it along time ago.
After talking for a while; they had gotten to know each other and actually hit it off. "So what happened today?" Taelynn sat down on the couch and threw her legs over Quincy's after Josiah had left for the day.
"I seen Gerald" He mumbled and took her socks off and rubbed her feet. "I got a little brother too; you should have seen how much toys and shit Ive never had he got for the little dude" he got angry all over just thinking about it. "I just feel like a shitty son; I wonder what he's doing that I hadn't, I was happy to see Gerald for him to hit me with something like that and then the boy is also Chrissy's son you know? I feel like that's bullshit. She saved her biological son but not me or my sister right? Maybe I never meant shit to her either." He choked out and as bad as he didn't want to he let the tears fall.
Taelynn quickly got up and wiped his tears. "Don't you feel like that, you've did nothing wrong okay? Nothing is wrong with you and fuck him if he doesn't see how perfect you are okay?" She kissed his lips softly as he cried. "Therapy is working for you; don't let him take you back there" She had noticed how much Quincy had grown over the month and would hate for that to go to waste.
"Enough about me how as your day?" He changed the subject; because what he felt right now wasn't something he could just forget about.
"Josiah and I studied here for our math class; and he was talking to me about how important it is not to bottle my feelings up... and how I needed to testify." Taelynn sighed, she was tired of hearing the same things, she honestly felt like she was doing good she didn't think about what happened to her unless someone brung it up. "and please don't start babe; let's watch movies and cuddle." She smiled and Quincy decided to drop it.
"I miss my mommy and daddy" Taelynn pouted, Dylan and Gabby had been on a two day trip; and she was ready for them to be back home tomorrow after she forced them to go; and have some alone time together. "I wonder if our kids will be like that one day, would they miss us like that?" She asked and Quincy coughed, choking on his spit.
"Kids?" He raised an brow.
"You stuck with me forevvvaaaaaa" Taelynn mimicked Cardi B and they burst into laughter.

"Stop.. please" Quincy jumped out of his sleep hearing Taelynn cry in hers; something he hadn't heard In almost two months. "Kevin we agreed on marriage please" Quincy shook her as her body started to shake really bad; as if she was going into shock.
He quickly ran and knocked loudly on her parents door; and Dylan opened the door and noticed the look on Quincy face and without another word he ran into his daughters room and found her seizing on the bed, mumbling Kevin's name over and over, and he Quickly grabbed her running down the stairs with Gabby and Quincy following behind to get her to a hospital.
"I hated when this shit happened to you" Dylan mumbled and images of his wife in this same stage flashed through his mind from many years ago.
They both knew she had worse to come; if she kept refusing help.
"She's bleeding really bad" Quincy began to panic as Taelynn body went limp and blood rushed from between her legs.
