Adia ran ahead in front of everyone. She was so ready to get out of the house, she couldn't wait. She was like a little kid at Christmas time. Alden ran after her. Their father had said to stay together and himself and Adam would be down soon. So Adia, Alden and Alden's best friend Andrew. Who happened to be part of the pack all ran down to the river. "Slow down adi" Alden called after Adia. Alden and Andrew eventually caught up with Adia. "Your... w-way to... fast" said Andrew catching his breath. Alden stood with slightly leaning over with his hands on his legs. Adia stood looking at them and laughed. "You two need to get to the gym" said Adia then laughed again. Alden looked at Adia. He had a slight smirk on his face.
The sun was now high In the sky. The sky was a clear shade of baby blue and there wasn't a cloud in slight. She sun beat down on the whole pack. Armando had brought bottles of water and ham and cheese sandwich for everyone. They all sat at the edge of the river and ate their lunch. After they had finished their lunch Andrew and Alden and Adia went back into the river. The water was warm because the sun had heated it up. They sat in she shallow end in the middle of the river. There was a pile up of mud that made it shallow. So they were able to sit on it. Adia pushed Alden with her leg and he fell back into the water. "Wow" coming up from under the water rubbing his eyes. Alden smiled then mad a big splash and soaked Adia. Adia laughed and splashed Alden again. "Your so in for it" said Alden. Adia got up and swam up the river. "Adia!" Called Alden. Alden dived and swam after her up the river.Armando stood by the edge of the river watching them swim up the river. "They never change do they" said Adam. Armando stood and ever said anything he just sighed. Then eventually Adia and Alden were now out of sight. Armando stood looking to see if they would come back. "Andrew, go get them" Armando said finally. Andrew dived and swam up the river. In the same direction that Alden and Adia went. He eventually caught up with them. "Come on you two, your dads about to blow a kettle" said Andrew. Adia jumped out the river and ran along the rivers edge back to were Armando and Adam were. She got to her dad and then realised that Alden and Andrew weren't there. "They need to get faster" said Adia catching her breath and laughing. Adia looked at her dads face. It had a look of stop laughing on it. Adia snapped out of it right away. All three of them stood and listened. All Adia could hear was the slow silent flow of the river and a very slight wind. Then she heard running and heathy breathing. Out of the forest came Andrew. His eyes were big and he was out of breath. "What happened!" Said Armando. "It's Alden, he's been shot" replied Andrew. Everyone's eyes widened. Armando could hear people running through the forest. A bullet went flying past Adia's face just missing her. She looked at her father with fear in her eyes. Then it hit her. Alden had been shot. Was he still alive, was he dead. Adia fell to her knees and cried. Armando kneeled down quickly and grabbed Adia by her shoulders. He looked right into her eyes. "Run".
Adia got up and ran as fast as she could. She could hear the sound of gun shots behind her. She could hear her pack Members screaming in pain. There was lots of shouting as well. "What am I doing" Adia thought to herself. She couldn't just leave her pack. Her family! She couldn't just leave them like that. They were in danger and they needed help. She stopped running. She began to walk back to where she had left them. She stopped by a tree and looked round it slowly. Adam, Andrew and Armando were lying on the forest floor. Andrew and Adam had pools of blood surrounding them. Adia felt as though she couldn't breathe. She couldn't believe what she saw. She looked round the other side of the tree and she saw two men walking away. They were caring guns and laughing. Adia stayed were she was. She knew that they must have been the people who attacked them. But why? She thought to herself. There was silence in the forest again. Then Adia heard coughing. It was Armando. "Dad" Called Adia running up to him and kneeling down by his side. "I told you to run" said Armando. He was weak. Adia could see that he was loosing blood. This shouldn't happen. Adia thought to herself. Armando's wounds were so severe they wouldn't heal. Adia knew she had to get her father to a hospital. She called a ambulance that arrived quickly. The people took Armando away and police were swarming the place. Adam and Andrew were put into body bags. The police were asking Adia if she knew who done this. Adia didn't know. She was in so much shock she could Barely say anything. The police let Adia have some time but said they would walk to her later. Then Adia remembered. The ran along the rivers edge. Then she saw him. Alden was lying on the forest floor by the river. "Alden!" Shouted Adia. She fell to her knees right next to him. Tears were streaming down her face. She checked his pulse. It was weak. Very week. Alden opened his eyes and looked at Adia. He could see that she was crying. "It's...it's okay" Alden said weakly. He closed his eyes again. Adia placed Alden's head on her knee and hugged him tight. Alden was covered in his own blood. The police came up behind Adia and saw Alden. They pulled her away from him. Adia's clothes were covered in blood and so were her hands. She heard the police saying that Alden was dead. She burst out crying even more. Her brother. Her best friend. The one person who had been there for her for her entire life, was being put into a body bag and taken away from her. Adia tried to go after him but the police grabbed her and wouldn't let her go. Adia's whole world crumbled in a matter of seconds. Why Alden she thought. Why not herself. Alden was the most amazing, brave, kind, loving person she had ever known. He didn't deserve to die. Not like that. Not so young. Neither did Adam or Andrew. Adia stood crying in the police woman's arms. "Come on dear let's go get your dad" said the police woman.
