Adia woke up to the smell of bacon through out the house. The winter sun shone through the window on the roof in Adia's bedroom. It was nice and cosy in the room and Adia almost didn't want to get out of bed because she was so warm and comfy and the covers were very soft. Eventually after staring at the wood celing for a we while Adia decided to get out of bed. Her hair was unbrushed and wavy. She wore a white tank top and light grey joggers that Ladia had given her to wear. Adia slowly walked down the stairs into the living room and walked into the kitchen. Ladia was standing at the stove making breakfast and Damian was sitting at the table on his phone. Adia walked over to the table and sat down. Damian looked up from his phone at Adia and turned his phone off and put it into his pocket. "who are you messaging?" Adia asked Damian. Damian gave Adia a look that said none of your business so Adia didn't say any more on the topic. After a few minuets of complete silence Ladia walked over and placed breakfast onto the table for them all to eat. Ladia, Damian and Adia all ate their breakfast. After breakfast Adia went up the stairs into her room to get ready. Adia was brushing her hair out of its wavy curls making her hair straight when there was a knock on her room door. Adia turned round and her mum walked in, "I think we need to talk" said Ladia. Adia look at her mum. She knew that the 'we need to talk' phrase was usually not a good thing. "Okay" said Adia with a slight smile as she stood up.
Adia walked into the living room and Ladia was already sitting on the couch. She looked up at Adia and patted the couch beside her for Adia to sit down. Adia walked over and sat down feeling confused and a little bit nervous because she had no idea what her mum was going to ask her. Ladia stayed silent for a few minuets and just looked at Adia as though she wasn't quite sure what she was going to say or planning on saying. Adia began to feel a bit awkward. After a while Ladia finally spoke. "How have you been?". That't it? Adia thought to herself. She was expecting her mum to ask her something different from that. Then Ladia asked something else that Adia was expecting her to ask. "How come your here now?" Adia took a deep breath. She knew that her mum most likely didn't know about Alden being dead. She wasn't there so Adia didn't see how she could possibly know. "Damian found me...." Adia began to explain her leaving the house and spending weeks in the cold forest and how she meet up with Damian but missed out the part about Alden and Armando being Dead. Ladia's stopped smiling as Adia was talking and sadness filled her face. "Oh my baby im so sorry i should have been there". Adia knew her mum was sorry. She could see it in her eyes as they began to water with sadness. Adia gave her mum a hug dreading what she would have to tell her next in her head. They stayed hugging each other for a few minuets before Ladia pulled away from the hug. They both looked each other right in the eyes for a few seconds. "What about your brother?" asked Ladia "Where is he?". Adia looked up and took a deep breath shutting her eyes. Adia's eyes filled with tears that began to run down her face. Her heart seemed to hurt more and more everyday that Alden wasn't there and talking about him knowing that he wasn't coming back didn't make it any easier.
"Alden died" said Adia with tears streaming down her face. Saying it out loud to her mum just made it seem even more real that it did before. Adia hadn't had to tell anyone about Alden dying because there was no one to tell. She was all alone. Although now she had had to tell two people and she knew that no matter how many people she told that it wouldn't get any easier. Alden was her best friend. He had practically raised her from when she was just a baby. He wasn't just a older brother to look up to, to Adia. He was something way more greater. Ladia's eyes got big when she heard what Adia said. She stood up and walked about the living room. Pacing up and down. "are you sure?" said Ladia. Adia nodded, "he was murdered and so was Dad". Ladia lost her breath for a second. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Her child, her first born son was dead and she hadn't seen him in sixteen years. She hadn't seen him since he was just a little boy. She had missed him growing up as well as Adia. Ladia began beating herself up in her head wishing that she had never left. "Do you want to see a picture of him?" said Adia. Ladia whipped her eyes and sat back down on the couch next to Adia. She nodded. Adia took her phone out of her back pocked and handed it to her mum. On Adia's lock screen was a picture of her and Alden that had been taken only a few weeks before the accident. It was a selfie. Adia had a large smile on her face and she looked as though she were laughing. In the back ground Alden was standing on his bed with his knees bent leaning over making peace signs with both his hands and his tongue sticking out. Both Adia and Alden looked very happy. "We were taking goofy pictures" said Adia with a smile and a slight laugh. Ladia let out a smile despite still feeling sorry for herself and extremely bad. "Your brother was always goofy from what i remember" said Ladia.
