Adia spent the rest of the night helping ladia clean up the house. She dusted the cabinets and afterwards she hovered the stairs. Damian had been out pretty much all day. He had left just after breakfast but didn't say where he was going. Adia hadn't really been feeling a strong connection to Damian the last few days. It wasn't that she didn't like him or that they didn't get along. Adia was just getting used to having another brother. She had grown up always only knowing she had one brother. Alden. She had never been given a reason to think otherwise. It was all just a bit overwhelming for Adia. Before anyone knew it the sun was beginning to set over the far hills. The snow shimmered and sparkled as the sun set. Ladia stood looking out of the window at the sun set. Adia was worried about her mum. She hadn't said anything to her since she told her about Alden or showed her the picture. Adia guessed that she must just need some time, although it didn't make seeing her mum sad any better at all. Adia stood in the door way into the kitchen leaning slightly on the door frame as the stared at the back of Ladia's head as she was looking out the window. The living room had a warm cosy feel to it. The fire was barely still burning but the dim orange sunlight coming through the windows made it seem warmer than it actually was. Ladia's eyes sparkled in the sunlight beating against the cold snow. Her hair was long. Almost as long as it was in the picture Adia had of them. She held a cup of tea in her hands close to herself and sipped at it. Adia wished there was something she could do but she wasn't sure what. She didn't know her mum very well because she had never known her. Sje wished so much that Damian would be back soon because surely he would have an idea on what to do.
Hours passed and Damian still wasn't home. Ladia had began to get a little worried but Adia assured her that Damian would be okay and that he could most likely be back soon. Although deep down Adia was also slightly worried. Damian had been gone for hours and hadn't even bothered to send a message to say that he was okay or when he was coming back. Eventually Adia decided it was best to go to bed because it was getting late and she was tired. She left Ladia sitting in the living room knitting but she said that she would go to bed soon. When Adia got to her room he threw her hair into a messy bun and put her pyjamas on. She lay under her warm covers in her bed staring at the ceeling. She hoped that Damian would be back soon and that her mum would feel better. Adia had always had an urge to look after and help people. so when her family were upset it was natural for her to feel a bit sad herself and want so badly yo help them as much as possible. Although Adia knew that what happened to Alden was a shock. Ladia didn't know the full story of what happened and how Alden really died but Adia thought that that was perhaps a story for another time. She couldn't imagine how her mum must feel right now. Alden was her son. Her first born and even though she left when he and Adia were so young she still cared for them no matter what. Something in Ladia's eyes told Adia that she had hoped that seeing Adia would mean she would get to see Alden again but that wasn't the case. Adia was just about to sleep when she heard a knock on her bed room door. Adia sat up slightly and turned her body to look to see who it was. The door opened slowly, Adia couldn't tell who it was because the room was dark and there was very little light in the haul. "hey you awake" said Damian. Adia recoginsed his voice right away she quickly turned on her bedside lamp to light the room up slightly and jumped out of bed and ran into Damian's arms. He hugged her back and asked what had happened. Adia explained to Damian what she had told her mum and how she hadn't spoken all day. Damian didn't say much. In fact he didn't say anything at all. He just nodded his head and walked out if the room. Adia wanted to question him and go after him but she was so tired that she decided she would talk to him in the morning if she was able to. She went back into her bed and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
