Returning from our jog, I never felt better. I'm glad it's the weekend. This entire week at work has been so fast-paced. I'm glad to be unwinding with Gladys. And Olivia.
"That was quite a jog. You ladies almost killed me. I don't normally jog. It's something new," Olivia says, huffing and puffing.
"Livvy, you are, obviously, in great shape. You must work out," Gladys says.
Olivia takes this moment to bend and flex her muscles, showcasing her fit body. She is full of it. She's so cute doing that, though. She is, indeed, in great shape. I remember last night on the couch. I remember what she was wearing. I shake my head a little. Why am I even thinking about her?
"Yes, I do work out, but I don't jog. I like adventurous workouts. I like rock climbing, mountain bike riding, or just hiking."
Gladys eyes lit up, and she nudges me, "oh!! Mo, we gotta make that happen. I would love to try something new like that."
"The minute that you decide, let me know. I would love to join, if it's ok."
"Of course, it will be ok, right, Mo?"
I, suddenly, feel like I'm the third wheel here.
"I'll think about it, Gee."
I know she is about to tear into me, but I am saved by a stranger.
"Well, well. I hope everyone on the opposite side of this trail is safe."
What is she getting at?
"Hi, gorgeous. We meet again. Embrace your fate."
Oh, Olivia knows her. But how?
The girl smiles wide with Olivia, and Olivia steps a few feet away from us. Gladys and I keep walking. She catches up to us, grinning like a child. Her smile is way too contagious.
"Uhm...details?" Gladys asks, proving to be nosey.
"I got her number."
"For?"
I'm just listening to the back and forth.
"A possible date?"
Gladys and I stop in our tracks. We fall behind, just looking at Olivia.
"I'm lesbian. I thought you knew."
She says it looking at us like we are dumb. I guess it isn't a big deal, but I don't know how to feel about this latest piece of information. I wonder if Phillip knows.
