To say that the day was interesting would be an understatement. It was actually the most happening day of the recent past.

To start it off, my ears decided not to hear the alarm. It kept on ringing for almost half an hour. Still, my ears refused to let it in. Someone had to come shake me before I got up.

It wasn't a great start to the day. And to be fair, it's not in our hands how things start. What's in our control is not to let that start ruin our journey.

That's exactly what I did today. I didn't allow this bad start to ruin my morning.

Even after getting up late, I reached the station well on time. I'm talking about train station here. Yes, the one from where trains travel to different towns. And since this week, even I've started to travel with them.

Everyday, my destination is the same, train is the same, and as I'm slowly finding out, most of the people in that train are also same. All of them hustling to college or work.

Well, the train surprised me today.

For the first time in three days, it departed right on time. Didn't take any unnecessary halts. And even reached the destination on time.

But, the train ain't used to this punctuality. And so, it must have got confused what to do now that it had reached on time.

In that confusion, it actually did nothing. Just stood there outside the station.

From what I heard from my co-passengers, the platform must have been busy. Some other train still stood there, and so, our train didn't have the space to squeeze in.

This was the truth, but I'd still like to believe my confusion theory.

So the train stood there outside the station for agonizing 30 minutes. The very minutes which could have helped me in the evening.

Since I reached 30 minutes late to the office, I had to leave late too.

And eventually, those precious 30 minutes made all the difference.

There's a bus which takes me from the train to office. Many busses pass through that stand. And they are all numbered. Since busses don't have a mouth, this numbers is how they tell us where they are going.

So there I stood, waiting for the bus on my designated spot. A bus arrived soon. But, this bus didn't have any number on it. And so, nothing to shout out which route is was going on.

First the train and now the bus, both eager to make me anxious.

Assuming it's my bus, I got on.

And just like every other time, my assumption was wrong. The bus was going to a different address.

Realizing this, I got down midway, and waited there for a bus to my destination. As it happens, the bus that came there was also without a nunber took. Such beautiful luck I have.

Like a fish in a sea, I took the bait. A wrong bait!

For the second time in the evening, I was sitting in a bus that wasn't taking me to my destination.

With all the time wasted, I was never going to catch my usual train.

It's easy to get angry in such a situation. And surprisingly, it's even easier to let that anger go.

What had happened, happened. Gone. Getting angry wasn't going to teleport me to the train. And the next train back home was still long away

I had almost an extra hour in my hands. An hour to do anything I wish.

And so, I decided to make the most of it.

Rather than getting down midway again and rushing to the station, I stayed put in the bus. I was going to explore this new city tonight.

So there I was, travelling till the last stop, and window watching the city. Once there, I caught another bus and continued the exploration.

Travelling through a city at night is a different feel altogether. There are lights everywhere and everything seems so beautiful.

The roads were full, shops all crowded. People going back to their home. People coming back to spend the evening. People getting out to make new friends. It was all happening.

And in the middle of it all, there I was, a newly found acquaintance of this city.

As my mini vacation came to an end, I found my way back to the train station.

Well well, it wasn't the end of the day by any means.

The moment I stepped on to the platform, speakers blared to announce that all trains were running an hour late.

I thought yes, I can still get my usual train. Unfortunately though, that was the only train which had decided to be a rebel. It had already left on its designated time.

In the end, there was no other option but to wait for the next train. I eventually reached home just half an hour before midnight.

It was definitely a day full of adventure. And the more I travel, I think I'll have many more such adventures.

Because,

When you travel, every day is an adventure
