"So, tell us about an average day for you and David," Jason pointed the camera towards me. I quickly finished chewing my bite of grilled chicken while I thought about what to say.

"I wake up, I go to work, David films with you guys, and then when I get off, we usually eat dinner together and go to sleep," I answered honestly. "Pretty boring, yeah?"

"We have fun at dinner though," David explained, and I stared at him like he was crazy. We usually just watched a movie or a TV show, and sometimes I complained to him about Ethel from the library who didn't understand the concept of personal space. "And we always change up the scenery. Where's your favorite place to eat, babe?"

I laughed just thinking about it. "David made us sit on that glass fence thing right on the hill and eat hot chicken one time. It was so fucking scary that it kind of became fun. My all-time favorite was that place in Vegas, though. The one where Diamond was our waitress. They had some bomb food."

"I miss it," David smiled to himself, shoving some caesar salad (that I forced him to eat) in his mouth. "No one really knows how we met. We could talk about that."

"Hmm, okay," I nodded, awkwardly taking a sip from my water as a cue to let David take the lead. He just stared back at me. I didn't know how much I was supposed to say or how much I wasn't supposed to say, so I was kind of stressed about sharing the story. "Well, we woke up in the middle of nowhere in Nevada after getting drunk and stealing a car. Please don't drive drunk, kids. It is a wonder we didn't kill ourselves or kill someone else on the way to Nevada."

"PSA from Genevieve Parker," Jason laughed, and I tried my hardest to keep the smile on my face. I didn't like him, but I didn't want it to show. David wanted me here, so I would do it.

"Anyways, we also had no phones, no wallets, and I didn't have a shirt," I explained, and David nodded along, as if he approved of the way I told the story. "So we had to go through a lot to get back."

"We stayed at this clown motel, which I did show in my video," David said. "That was about the creepiest shit I've ever seen in my life. Gen didn't even care. She thought it was cool."

"It was cool!" I defended myself with a laugh, lightly shoving him. "Quit making me look like a freak. Plus, the guy that worked there was really, super nice. Shoutout to Bob from the Clown Motel, if you're watching this."

"I would say he's not," David joked. "He was like, ninety."

"Oh, so ninety year olds can't use a computer?" I frowned, trying to hold back my grin as I gestured to Jason and said, "Jason does it just fine!"

"I like her," Trisha laughed, one of the first things she had said since we sat down. David had warned me she talked a lot, so I knew something was off when she remained quiet for half the meal. I wasn't sure if she was mad at Jason or disliked me, but now I had my answer.

Todd exited his room ready to leave and waved at us on his way out. "What are you guys doing?"

"Double dating," Jason shrugged, turning his camera towards Todd. "Invite Corinna, and we can triple date."

"Or just invite Corinna for no reason," I smirked at David, who rolled his eyes and flicked me off. If he mentioned his crush on someone else, I'd fuck him up. I was glad we could joke about mine.

"Maybe you could invite Corinna and Tfue," Todd replied sarcastically, shoving his wallet that was sitting on a table into his pocket. I didn't know what that meant, but based on the anger behind his tone, I knew I shouldn't ask. "I'm going out. Don't put that in the video. Bye."

"Bye, Todd!" I waved to one of the only one of David's friends that I could stand. He was a little fangirl-y with me at first, but he quickly settled down and treated me like a normal person, which was all I asked. Everyone else was either rude or obsessed. Not my kind of people. "So... yeah. I guess that's it?"

"What was your first impression of each other?"

"Stuck up asshole," was my answer.

"Rude bitch," was his.

"You didn't like each other?" Trish asked for verification, and I vehemently shook my head.

"No! He was, like, so rude? We were stuck in the middle of nowhere, and he didn't want to have any fun," I pouted, glancing over at David who was staring at me with his soft, ever present smile.

"So when did you start liking him?"

It was a hard question to answer. Subconsciously, I had probably liked him since he picked me up so I didn't have to walk on the hot pavement outside the pawn shop. No matter how much I would've denied it to myself and to others, there was definitely an emotional switch that happened that day. David felt it, too. He knew when I contributed my favorite earrings to the fund that something has changed between us.

As far as actual I like him feelings went, I don't think I knew I liked him until I knew I loved him just a week or so ago. He was my best friend, no doubt, and we had endless amounts of laughter and fun whenever we hung out together, but... I guess I didn't realize it until we were separated and I realized I couldn't be happy without him.

I answered, "A few weeks ago. I mean, we had been friends before that, but to me, it wasn't romantic until a few weeks ago, when we stopped talking."

"And you, David?" Jason asked, eyebrows popped up, intrigued by what David might say. I was, too.

"Oh, I knew," he said confidently, reaching down to intertwine our fingers. "I knew the first day. We went to this pawn shop to sell my camera so we'd have enough money to get home, and I wanted her to sell her earrings. She kept telling me how special they were to her and that she wasn't going to sell them, and then we go into the pawn shop, and she takes them right off. It was so selfless. I knew she wasn't the kind of person I thought she was. She cared about other people, probably more than she cares about herself. I don't know. I guess that's when I loved her."

It took everything in me to hold back my tears.
