~Taylor~
I was punching bags when Mara came in and talked to me. She’s like my sister. She looks around so that way my dad doesn’t know. What is going on? She’s sometimes like this, but not yet this year, I think, a little weary. She walks up to me, grabs my elbow and leads me to a corner where I’m out of my dads’ view.
“What’s going on? You know you can’t be in here, not while the Sixteen year-olds are in here. Why do you have an alive glint in your eye,” I ask in a whisper.
“Redwood.” She whispers. I immediately tense up and I feel a pit in my stomach. What happened with Darren? He’s nothing but trouble, with that stupid gang.
“What does he want?” I ask, my voice still a whisper.
“Rulebreaker Party. At A1. You wanna come?” Mara says. I get this uneasiness feeling.
“A1? Are they crazy? Mara, you should know better than to go!” I whisper shout. I hear dad is coming in a run. Mara gives me a dirty look and hands me a piece of paper.
“Mara, Taylor, come here.” My dad says. I feel a pit in my gut and I try not to spill everything, for Mara’s sake. Dad gives me a cocked eyebrow and I bite my lip. Now he knows something deeper than this is to be suspected. Great.
“So, Taylor, tell me what happened, right here. Mara, you know you shouldn’t be here.” Dad says, his tone like an Instructors, not to be disobeyed. I stay there and Mara leaves.
“Tell me what happened.” Dad says. I sigh, and I hand him the piece of paper. I keep my mouth shut. Dad nods his head as he’s reading. He looks up from the paper and sighs. His attention focuses on me.
“You did a very good job. The consequence is… Mara isn’t a good influence. You are to stay away from her.” Dad says, as I wince. Really dad?! I thought my dad was my friend. Friends don't tell you to stay away from your friends. I just can't believe him right now. But I know he is being dead serious with what he said, I mean, my dad isn't known for his jokes.
I walk down the halls, not paying any attention, and I run into some guy punching a punching bag. “Sorry” I mumble. He stops me before I can walk away.
“You’re Tay, right?” He asks.
I roll my eyes before answering, “Taylor. Only…you should know me as is ‘Four’s Daughter’, alright?” My tone is very serious, like my dads’. Great, just another reminder of what just happened. -.-
He snickers as he answers, “You’re funny. Too bad you can’t go to A1…” Is it becasue I am a girl? Huh? Well guess what, Girls can do anything boys can do.
I feel myself perk up. “I can go if I wanted to, sir.”
“Tyler. My name is Tyler. And, sure, sure you can.” He says, sarcasm in the last part. Uggghhh, boys...
I smirk, now is the perfect opportunity to punch something, since we are in a Punching Practice Room. I face a punching bag and start with a deadly kick. I get close to it and I rapidly punch, burning off some steam, whatever may be left. I hear clapping from my right side.
“Nice job, Taylor.. Now you really truly prove yourself as an Eaton.” Tyler says. I am engulfed in anger, I always was an Eaton before! I punch him in the chest, hard enough to leave a bruise. I just broke a rule, it feels releving and fun. Tyler just laughs. I then realize who he is. Tyler Weston, one of the Rulebreakers. He’s blonde and strong and he has blue eyes.
Tyler smirks and whispers, “Come with me to A1, tonight. Evelyn and Marcus and Caleb are there, planning on destroying peace.”
I turn my head, he’s closer than I imagined. I frown. I whisper, “The Peace has already been destroyed.”
