Luke
I wake up in a room, it reminds me of a jail but worse. I think I am in my dad’s basement. If that is the case, I am in trouble…
My question is answered when I look around. Familiar concrete floor, concrete brick walls, I can’t help but shiver at the memories of what happened in this room before I moved out…
“Cold Darren? I thought you were Mr.Tough-Guy who breaks the rules…” I hear Eric’s friend Mason say.
“Yeah, well things change, just like some people.” I say. If words could be cold, This room could be called Antarctica in winter 2. That reminds me of a superhero movie, The Winter Soldier Captain America if I remember correctly. I wonder where Amnesia is.
“Yeah, yeah. You can hold on to your past or let it go. Your choice.” Mason says. I roll my eyes. His mom could have named him after that Shakespeare guy… I mean, he could be a living quotes or poetry book. Wait, I am chained to the wall. Focus, I need to Focus. That reminds me of the magic word from that conversation.
Hocus Pocus!
Aaaaand nothing happens. Well, now I know I am not a wizard like Harry Potter...
Da da da da, what should I do? Hmm. Maybe I could be like that person, Macgyver, and use science to get out of this mess? Ok, lets see…
I have a knife, I check my pockets. Wait where is my knife?
“Looking for this?” Mason says. He holds up my knife. Great. Just great.
Ok, what about my other knife. I look up at Mason and see he has all my weapons. Great. Just perfect...
“What, Redwood? Just realize what happens when you, gasp, break a rule?” Mason says. I glare at him and he just stands there and laughs. Well, what do I do now? I just need to think. Yeah, think. This is America, we should have the right to free will and thinking. What happened to July 4th? Independence Day?
Rules happened, that’s what happened.
I see Mason leave and I sigh in relief. I just hope I can find a way to get out of here soon…
I look around again, the chains are aluminum, I can use this to my advantage. After all, isn’t that metal really weak, or was that steel? I should have payed more attention in science day… But annoying the teacher was so fun and so worth the detentions…
Wait, he’s gone so I could break the chains on the concrete… I hit my chains on my wrist against the concrete floor. Owwww! Ouch! Bad idea! Again bad idea! The force that you use to try to break the metal just vibrates against your skin.
“You do realize that we are recording you on a camera, right?” A voice says. It sounds like it was sent here electronically, kind of like how a phone call sounds like. I look around, and sure enough there is a security camera watching my every move. I glare at the camera and it just sits there, mocking me. Its probably laughing a silent robot laugh.
“Really?” I shout. But the camera just sits there and I swear it goes up then down, signalling it saying yes. I hate that camera. If I ever see it again in my life after I get out of here, I am going to burn it, in a microwave. Because campfires are so old-school. Might as well break a microwave and set it on fire. I could set Mason’s microwave on fire… or Erics… choices, choices.
I hear something in the distance and then the camera’s on light goes off. Haha! Take that camera! Can’t record me anymore! I stick my tongue out at the camera.
“Really Darren, you are so childish.” I hear Four say. WHAT?
I look over to the doorway and see Four there, leaning against the door frame, his arms crossed.
