Chapter 17

Abigail's POV-

I wake up and it's 3 am, I really did fall asleep. I get out of bed and walk to Shawn's room. The lights are out so he's asleep. I check our guest room and Aaron is sound asleep. I smile to myself and just as I'm about to walk out I hear him move around. "Abigail?" Aaron asks in a sleepy voice. I walk over to him and nod then realize he's still asleep.

"Yeah Aaron?" He sits up and rubs his eyes. He checks the clock on the night stand and laughs. "What are you doing awake at 3 in the morning? You should be asleep." He pets my head and I groan.

"I went to bed too early and now I can't sleep." He nods and gets up, he pulls me up and looks at me. I move my eyebrows around in confusion.

"You know what Aaron I'm going to bed. You should too. Goodnight Aar-" I get cut off by him pulling my arm and pulling me close to him.

"I'm sorry but I can't. I can't keep this from you. I love you Abigail. I know you probably don't want to hear that but it's the truth." He grabs my face before I can say anything and kisses me. He pulls away and smiles, "you have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that." He hugs me and goes back in bed before telling me goodnight.

I walk into the living room and plop myself down on the big couch. I think about what just happened. Aaron just kissed me. It wasn't a 'friendly' kiss either. It was an actual kiss. I don't know why I'm overreacting. Oh wait it's because you didn't push him off when you clearly have Matt. Matt!

"Should I tell him what just happened?" I whisper to myself making sure to keep my voice down.

"No you idiot, then he'll get mad at you for cheating on him." Wow brain, thanks for the help. I decide to tell Shawn. I walk to his room and find him sitting at the end of his bed looking out the window. He looks over at me and smiles. He pats down the seat next and I sit down.

"What's wrong?"

"Aaron kissed me." I blurt out. He turns his head towards me and waits for me to explain. "I went to sleep like at 8 last night so I wake up and it's 2."

"It's actually 3 in the morning." He laughs.

"Same difference, you get what I mean. Anyways, I wanted to see if any of you were still awake so I came to your room and you were asleep. Then I went to Aaron's and I thought he was asleep. Actually he was I think I woke him up. Well he calls me over and tells me how he can't keep this away from me and that he loves me and that he knows I don't want to hear about it. So before I can say anything he kisses me, it was quick but still. He kissed me Shawn!" I try to keep my voice down the entire time. He nods and with his index finger and thumb he rubs his chin as if he's thinking hard.

"Wait so how is it the same if it's different?"

"Seriously?" He shrugs his shoulders asking what.

"You focused on that the entire time?" He nods and blushes lightly. "In my defense, I was still listening to everything you said."

"Oh really?" He nods. "Then what did I say?" His eyes get big but he clears his throat and 'coughs'.

"You said that you woke up at 3 am because you stupid and you went to Aaron's room. Y'all talked. He confessed his love for you. He kissed you. Now here you are talking to me about it." He makes a sound that sounds something like a choke and a groan.

"I'm not stupid."

"Who else goes to sleep at 8?" He crosses his arms over his bare chest.

"People who have jobs and go to school."

"Since when did you get a job? You're not even like 16 yet."

"You aren't either." I say defensively.

"I'm not the one that went to sleep at 8, woke up at 3 in the morning, got kissed by one of my boyfriends best friends and is know trying to figure out what to tell Matt." Well damn. He's definitely gotten more sassier.

"Woah take it easy man."

"Abigail, can I ask you something now?" I nod and sit back down next to me. He wraps the blanket around us and sighs. "How did you not notice it?" I look at him with confusion written all over my face.

"Not notice what?"

"Aaron told me a while ago. Before he even knew about you and Matt. He told me that he was in love with you. You remember that one time that we were at the hotel for our last magcon and we were playing truth or dare?" I nodded. "Aaron had asked me earlier that day if he could ask you out. He spent that entire day planning it all out. He had everything prepared. Remember how you and mahogany had gone shopping? Well that was all part of the plan. Matt had no idea. He still doesn't know."

"Why did you keep this from the guys and I?"

"Oh, the only ones that knew were the Jacks and I. Aaron wanted it to be special for you. He's always liked you since the day we all met in Dallas but you fell for Matt. The one that everyone loves."

"I had no idea. I was just hanging out with mahogany, I never knew that was part of some plan? Why are you attacking me right now?"

"I'm not. I'm just saying, who has really put the most effort into being with you?"

"Shawn really? Are you really going to start asking me this?"

"Dammit Abigail! I just want you to be happy okay? I'm looking out for you as a big brother. That's all. I'm not attacking you. I'm simply telling you." He hugs me and I hug him back. I know he was just looking out for me but it sounds like he wants me more with Aaron than with Matt? I don't know it's too late for all of this.

"Okay thanks for having back Shawn. I love you bro." I kiss his cheek and he kisses my forehead.

"Goodnight little one. I love you too. Now go to bed!" I laugh and he gives me a little push.

"I'm not that little!"

"Yeah you are!" I close the door behind me and walk over to my room. I close the door and get in bed with Matt. His mouth is slightly open and his small snores fill the room. I smile and lay down beside him. I kiss his cheek and think about everything that Shawn had told me.

Aaron was in love with me since the first event. He planned on taking me on the last meet up. I was best friends with Matt this entire time. Why did either of the jacks or Shawn tell me? Why did they have to keep it a secret? Now it takes a sleepy Aaron for him to confess that he loves me. On top of that he kisses me and tells me that he's waited forever to do that? All of this thinking is giving me a headache.

I find a comfortable position and soon my thoughts start minimizing. The last thing I remember was thinking about how part of me liked the kiss.

I wake up and it's almost 1 in the afternoon. Crap. I get up and go over to my bathroom to wash my face and put my hair up. I put my glasses on and go into the living room. I see Shawn and Aaron in the kitchen counter, whispering to each other, they almost look scared? They see me and they quickly shut up. "What's up?" I ask them and Shawn immediately points his finger towards the door. I follow to where he is pointing and there he is.

My dad.

Quick little update! Aaron kissed Abigail 😳 well that might cause some drama ;) I thought it was time for a little cliff hanger. I might update on Friday and if not then Saturday! I'm starting high school on Monday and I'm not sure when I will be updating.
