I stayed up all night thinking about what happened earlier. Brittney was so brave telling her story, it made me feel special.

But at the same time I felt like I couldnt look at her the same way, she had blood on her hands.

What if all of that were to happen again? This time me being the one in front of the gun. If she could kill the love of her life, what would stop her from killing me?

My alarm finally went off and I got up and got ready for school.

I ran downstairs and saw my mom sitting at the table.

"Good morning honey. Please, dont lie to me ok."

I raised an eyebrow and went to sit next to her. She looked like she had been crying.

"Mom? What's wrong? "

She looked me dead in the eyes.

"I received a call from Anna's job. They were practically begging for her to come back. They told me she quit. Now you told me that she was off on a business trip."

I sat up and tried to keep a straight face.

"Ha. Mom you know how she is. She probably quit and stayed where ever her trip was. Don't worry about it."

I tried to stand from my seat until she stopped me.

"Her phone is off. I tried calling a bunch of times but I get nothing. I dont even know where she went off to. This is definitely not like her.

I could see the worry in her face. I felt so bad for lying to her but I couldn't tell her the truth. It would make everything even worse.

I looked over at the time and finally stood.

"Mom relax. She'll call okay. I gotta go, I'm gonna be late."

She nodded weakly and I gave her a kiss on the cheek.

I went outside and noticed Brittney wasnt here. I looked at my watch and saw the time was 7:05. I had to be in class in less than 20 minutes.

I was walking for about 10 minutes when I heard a horn honking. I turned around and saw it was Jazmine's driver. I guessed that she was in the backseat so I went to open the door.

"Hey Jazz. What's going on?"

She smiled and scooted over.

"Dont make it as difficult as last time honey. Just get in."

I sighed and realized I was never gonna make it in time if I kept walking. I got in and got myself comfortable.

"So. May I ask? "

She half smiled at me and I immediately knew what she was talking about.

"Still no news, but my mom is starting to get worried. Anna's job called and were asking for her."

She sighed and placed her hand on mines.

"We'll find her. She has to be around somewhere. I've made calls to the airport and they have no records of her getting on any plane, which means she's still in the neighborhood."

"Wait. How'd you get them to tell you that?"

She chuckled.

"My older cousin is a flight attendant and she has many friends working around the building."
