I woke up 30 minutes before my alarm and unplugged my clock. I got up and stretched. I opened my curtains and went into the bathroom.

I dont know how long I stayed in the shower.  All I could think of kissing Jazmine. I really hope she doesn't come to school today. I closed my eyes and placed my head on the wall and let the water just run down my body.

****

I was a couple minutes late to class when I reached. I walked to the back of the class and sat down behind Brittney.

I clapped up Ricky opened my notebook. While I was putting my heading on the top corner,  a note fell onto my desk. I opened it and it read,

hey. whats goin on with u ? u seem depressed.

I smiled and wrote back,

im goood. just sleepy af. not really in the mood to be here.

I handed the note back to Britt and she took a minute to write back.

She threw the note back and it read,

meet me by the bleachers after class

I folded the note back and put it in my notebook.

****

I stopped at my locker before heading out to the bleachers. I opened it up and threw my bag in it. I closed it and cursed when I saw Jazmine standing there smiling at me.

"Oh shit. Jazz you scared me."

She wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Sorry Kev. I was walking and saw you at your locker and I decided to say hi."

I realized people were starting to watch us and I removed myself from her hold.

"Hey."

I started walking to the back doors when Jazmine grabbed my arm.

"Where are you going? Your class is this way"

She pointed in the direction of my class.

"Oh I got some stuff to handle real quick. I'll be back."

She looked me over and made a suspicious face.

"Ok I guess."

I got out of her hold once more and walked to the doors.

****

I stood by the bleachers for almost half an hour before the double doors opened. Brittney looked around and saw me. She smiled and came over to me.

"Hey I thought you were ditching me."

We laughed and she reached into her pocket and took out a pair of car keys. She jingled them in my face and smirked.

"You ready to go?"

She walked past me and started towards the parking lot.

I hesitated and then followed behind her.

"Wait, go where?"

I followed her to an Audi coup. It was gorgeous.  I almost didnt believe it was hers until she unlocked it and hopped in.

I got in the passenger seat and almost died when I rubbed on the interior leather. The car smelled new.

"Woah how'd you cop this ride? You're a junior in high school right?"

She laughed at how astonished I must've looked and nodded.

"I am a junior moron. I just work hard. I got this baby yesterday."

She revved the engine and tightened her grip on the steering wheel.

In a few seconds we were out of the school lot and on the road.

****

We parked under a bridge and she got out of the car and walked towards the river.

I followed behind her and watched as she sat on the ground and wrapped her arms around her knees.

I sat next to her and looked out into the river. It was soothing how the sound of the water flowing was the only thing I could hear.

"How'd you find this place?"

She shrugged and began to remove her shoes. she crawled closer to the water and placed her feet in.

"Things got complicated when I moved down here. I roamed around and found this place and I've been coming here ever since."

I watched her back move and how her hair moved with the wind. She never wore it down. I wondered how she would look.

****

We were back in the car for about 20 minutes now just listening to the radio.

From the corner of my eye I saw Brittney reaching under the seat. I turned and saw her putting something up to her lips and lighting it.

"Woah what are you Britt?"

She stopped and looked at me.

"Um. I'm lighting up."

She continued and I watched as she inhaled and exhaled. She held it over to me and I just looked at it.

"Tobacco is bad for you."

She looked at me and laughed harder than I've ever seen. When she finally pulled herself together she looked back at me.

"Its not tobacco sweetheart. It's marijuana. You know, weed. This here is called a joint."

I shook my head and looked at her in disgust.

She brought her joint back up to her lips and inhaled once again.

After a couple more puffs, the car was filled with smoke. It was hard for me to breathe.

"Why don't you crack a window to clear this up?"

She looked at me. She was unrecognizable. Her eyes hung low and the once white corneas were now red.

She laughed and placed her hand on my thigh.

"You should try this weed yo. I'm high as fuck. We can have a good time. I promise baby."

She began to rub my leg and I became uncomfortable.

"Britt you need to relax. Im not going to entertain you like this."

She agreed with me and locked her jaw.

"You know what. I took you out to have a good time and I honestly feel like you're fucking judging me now"

She slammed her hands on the wheel and looked at me.

"Get the hell out."

I watched her as she yelled at me to get out of the car. I took her as a joke. She can't be serious right now.

"I SAID GET THE HELL OUT OF MY CAR!"

I unlocked my door and stepped out. I heard the engine come to life and I watched as she made a U-turn and left me. I shut my eyes so the dirt wouldn't come in my eyes.

I guess I gotta walk.
