May's p.o.v
It's been over a week since I walked away from jake. After texting him, we met at the park .
Flashback
I got to the park around 5pm, Jake was already there waiting for me.
"Hi"
"Hey" he replied and shifted for me to sit.
"Jake, I'm so sorry for walking out on you. I was scared , what will happen if we don't end up being together. I don't want to lose you to someone else, then everything that happened within us would be nothing." I explain with tears streaming down my face.
"May"he faced me and held my hands"I want you to know that everything that has happened between us won't amount to nothing even if we don't end up together. This is hard for you as it is for me. The moon goddess has control over us and whoever she chooses as our mate is the best for us. And we could end up as mates, we don't know what the future has for us."
"Jake can you make a promise for me." I asked while sniffing
"What Is it"
"Even if we don't end up as mates ,will we still be friends"
"I swear to you that no matter what, we will still be friends" he cupped my face in his large hands and kissed my forehead.
We then went to cold stone,I went to drown myself in ice cream. After then, we talked about random things and we watched movies on Netflix in his house.
By 7pm, I was already at home
I was sitting on my bed and thinking about these things. It's less than a week to his birthday and I just hope the moon goddess would be so kind to make us mates.
My phone rang and I picked it up to check the caller. Sam
"Yo bitch ,how yo doing" she said in a fake British accent. I chuckled, leave it to Sam to lift your mood
"I'm great bitch. You?" I said in the same accent.
"I'm good,I just wanted to ask if you would like to hangout, cus I know you're brooding"
"Movie,pizza or ice cream?"I asked
"How about all"
I squealed "I'll be there in ten"
"Make it snappy bitch" she said as she hung up.
If you're wondering why Leomie won't be there, Luna duties. Poor girl.
I made my way downstairs,to my car and straight to my best friend's house.

Jake's p.o.v
The sound of my door banging against the wall woke me up and I know who they were immediately, my dumbass friends that I have no other option than to love.
"Wakey wakey, dumbass "they all shouted as they started jumping on my bed. I swear,I'm gonna kill this people and then go to hell.
"Can't you guys just wake up a guy in a decent manner" I said while pouting
"We ain't falling for that man, get your lazy ass up now,enter that damn bathroom, dress up and we go to school. I can't wait to find out who has to spend the rest of her life with a dumbass like you" Stephen, one of my friends said and the rest nodded in support.
"Yeah, whatever man"I said while making my way to the bathroom.

After about thirty minutes,I got downstairs to find my parents and little sister in the dining room with a cake with 'happy 18th birthday Jake' in chocolate on it.
"Happy 18th birthday son" my dad said with a pat on my back " I hope you find your mate today"
"Happy birthday darling, I'm so proud of you" my mum gave me a hug while sniffing. She's so emotional. "I know your mate's going to be so beautiful, and your wolf will be so cute" she pinched my cheek
"Thanks Mom, thanks Dad"
"Happy birthday Jakey" my little sister, Steph said while hugging my legs.
"Thanks stephy"I said and pinched her nose.
"That's enough. You have school." Mum said as she served everyone a slice of the cake and chocolate waffles.
After breakfast,my friends and I made our way to school.
In the car, I was wondering who my mate will be,will it be May or someone else.
Will she be human or wolf, how old will she be. What will she look like. I hope she smells good ,I don't want my mate to smell like puke or coconut. I hate coconuts.
"Our mate will have the most intoxicating smell ever" my wolf, Derek said.
And yes my wolf spoke to me this morning but I'm shifting later at night.
"Will it be May" I asked
"I can't tell until we see her" my wolf told me and I felt disappointed.
May called to wish me a happy birthday earlier. She's not been herself recently. She's always thinking. I really don't know why we don't get to choose who we want to spend our lives with.
As we entered the parking lot. Stephen parked the car in our usual spot.
"Man, you smell anything yet?" Brian asked
"No"
Just then I saw May standing about 20 feet from our car and I jumped out of the car to her. The nearer I got to her ,the more disappointed I got.
I didn't smell anything.
"It's not me right" she asked already in tears.
"No" I said and touched her cheek,there were no Sparks. Derek said I'll feel Sparks if it was her.
The moon goddess didn't do us good at all.
"I'll miss you" she said as she hugged me.
"May" someone called from a distance and just then did I smell it. The most intoxicating smell I ever smelt. The sweet smell of strawberry. A smile found it's way on my face as i looked to the direction where the voice came from only to be met with a face I know so we'll.
"Sam"
"Mate" May and I said at the same time.
