CHAPTER 8

Sorry guys for not giving you an update earlier, I had a lot of things on my head. I was soooooooo busy.
So here's your update.

Dean's pov

"Guards" I shouted at the top of my lungs. I was seeing red. How dare her drop this shit on my table.

The two guards guarding my office ran into my office.
"What the heck is this " I said and showed them the scroll.

There was the look of bewilderment on their faces.

"Alpha, we know nothing about this. No one has come close to your office since you left." A guard whose name I can't remember said. Actually, I can't remember both names.

"Listen to yourself, no one has entered my office and I find this scroll with this bull shit in it on my table. Since when did books start flying"

They both went on their knees after hearing my tone. Gavin is basically going crazy. Scratch that, we are both going crazy.

I pinched the bridge of my nose. The sight of the two guards repulsed me.
"Get out" I said in a calm but strong voice

"Alpha we are so-"

"GET OUT" I shouted
They both hurried outside, the morons still have the audacity to apologise.

I tugged at my hair. With the rate at with I pull this hair recently, I'm going bald soon.
I mean real soon. But that's the least of my problems.

If only mate was here to calm us down, breathing in the scent of your mate calms you down. You know. Gavin said to me.

I ignored him and blocked him. I really need to share my problem with someone.

Michael, meet me at the pack house in 20. I mind linked my beta.

I grabbed my keys from the table and made my way to my car.

25 minutes later

"....this witch is basically psycho, what does she have with us"

"Well I think this is all she wants,to see us break before attacking. We shouldn't be surprised about the strange scroll. Remember it's a witch we're dealing with here"

"Yeah. How is the training."

"The warriors are responding pretty good"

"And the underground passageway?"
"It's under construction, the builders are almost through." Beta Michael answered.

If you're wondering why we are constructing an underground passageway, ever since the school attack, we have been constructing an underground passageway in case of a bigger attack. The kids and untrained citizens will be kept there. It has a pass phrase and only the alpha, beta and gamma knows it.
Luna included but since we have no Luna, just the three of us know the pass phrase.

"Has there ever been any fight between we and the witches that's not in the historical book."

"No, none that I know of"

"I see no reason why this witch should be Keen on destroying us if we haven't done something wrong to her"

"You mean revenge"

"Exactly"

"It's high time we visited the library again.

Michael nodded in agreement " high time".

Alpha,alpha the grain farm is on fire. My gamma, Collin said through the pack link.

Michael and I jolted up at the same time.

What do you mean the farm is on fire.

Michael asked back, by this time, we were half way to the farm. We could see smoke rising to the cloud.

A lot of ozone layer has sure been destroyed today.
Pack members were running and screaming towards the devastating scene.

Someone should call the goddamit fire fighters. I shouted through the link.

Alpha, they are there already.

I wanted to ask why they are not putting the fire out, but it was useless.
I watched with my mouth agape. The fire fighters are putting out the fire but it seems like they are giving it more fuel.

The fire was gaining more power,  I stood motionless.
What's going on. What sort of witch are we up against.

Gavin whined at the back of my mind, about 15 acres of land filled with grains that should last us the whole summer was being burnt down in less than an hour.

The grains are still not due for harvest and this year's yield was so much. We were planning on selling to nearby packs after harvesting and storing. For you to know how big the yield is.

All efforts wasted, all hopes lost, all imaginations crumbled.

Now, we have to just stand and wait for the fire to lick all our sweats away.

You could see beads of pespiration form on everyone's head.

What's the alpha going to do about this

Will he just stand and watch while everything gets wasted

What do you want him to do, jump in the fire?

Why is there so much trouble in the pack

I hope our pack is not cursed

See how months of hardwork have been destroyed in less than an hour

Such a shame

People were bickering and complaining through the pack link.
My people are confused, hell I am confused.

Michael came beside me and pat me on the shoulder, shaking his head.

I'm sorry. He said through the pack link

I shook my head.

At exactly 1 hour, the fire seized. Every where was dark and smoky.

Flakes of ash we're falling on people. If it weren't for the situation, you might have found the little ashes beautiful. Yeah, they were beautiful. Beautiful peril.

Little by little, people started dispersing while grumbling under their breath.

When everyone left and it remained me, Michael and Collin. I didn't bother stripping, I ran in the direction of the forest and shifted halfway to my huge silly black wolf. Gavin howled as loud as he could while I gave him full control.

That moment, I realized we were up against something big. BIG.
