"Why are people staring at us?" Asher whispered to Levi, who simply shrugged. It was a bright sunny afternoon, a gorgeous day. It had been several months since He had been caught and killed, and things were slowly going back to normal. Asher had said he is fine at how many people were wary about him or hated him, being the bigger man. Levi, however, still held that grudge.

"What did you do?" Asher whispered teasingly to Levi, who simply laughed and nudged him. "I did nothing!" Levi said, putting on an offended tone. Truth be told, a rumour had spread out. A rumour that started about two weeks prior, when Marigold came to Spawn.

She was overjoyed to see her son and make sure he was alive and well. She shed quite a lot of tears over his loss of fingers, but he promised that he was okay. Some stood by, smiling at the loving display. "N-Now, Asher. Someone is missing.." Marigold said and Asher looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "Where's my son in law?" Marigold said calmly and Asher felt his face flush, hearing others snicker. "H-He's working, mom. But please, do not call him that.." Asher said slowly, clearly flustered.

Since then, people have whispered about it all. The rumours got bigger as Levi told a friend that Asher and his anniversary was coming up. Which spawned the rumour that Asher was going to purpose sometime soon. Some thought Levi, but the more common theory was Jay. Everyone wanted to keep an eye on them, to catch the moment it happens. "Really, though. Why watch us? I'm pretty sure they all know were gay by now." Asher teased and Levi let out a laugh, kissing Asher on the cheek. "I mean, we make it quite obvious."

Asher and Levi ended up separating after a while, Asher having to work. Asher hummed as he stepped into the building, putting on his armour. "Asher." A voice said and Jay turned around, smiling widely. "Hey, your highness." Asher teased and the male blushed, huffing a bit. "I said not to call me that! I may be king, but it feels stiff and weird!" He whined and Asher laughed, putting his sword in his belt. Asher had trained hard to become a guard again, even if he was missing a finger or two. He was still ready to fight and work for his new kingdom.

"Sooo.." He said slowly and Asher glanced back at him, smiling. "Soo?" Asher mocked and he rolled his eyes. "How're you and Levi?" He asked slowly and Asher smiled widely. "We're doing great. Feels good that we don't have to hide our relationship and can just be open, you know?" Asher said and he nodded slowly. "Have any plans for your anniversary? Any.. big plans?" He asked smoothly and Asher raised his eyebrows, confused for a moment. "Are you talking about purposing?" Asher asked, becoming baffled. He blushed and looked away. "I-I mean, yeah! Are you going to?" He blurted out.

Asher felt flustered, looking down at his feet. "I-I'd love to, but I have no plans on it. Levi may purpose too, we haven't really talked about it before.." Asher said shyly and he nodded slowly. "I'm sure he wants to get married. We could hold it here.. And the king could bless your wedding." He said, mumbling the last bit. Asher let out a laugh and grinned at him. "Oh yes, of course the king is invited, your highness!"

Levi and Asher walked towards the large doors, holding hands. For the first time in ages, they weren't in armour. Levi simply wore a hoodie and a comfortable pair of pants, Asher wearing shorts and a shirt. Asher, naturally, still had his pocket knife in his pocket. The guards seemed to stare at them, at them holding hands and.. the obvious.

They let them past and Asher tugged Levi over to the centre, knowing his mom was there. Marigold immediately saw them as they entered the centre, standing up and running up to them. He hugged Asher tightly, holding him close. "Oh, my precious baby.. I heard you got hurt again.. I heard the war was over.. I-I.." She whispered as tears brimmed the covers of her eyes. She pulled away and looked down, sniffing. "Show me it." She whispered and Asher nodded, lifting up his left hand.

Levi let go of Asher's hand for the time being as Asher unwrapped his bandage, revealing his hand. Marigold gasped and covered her face with her hands, staring in shock. "Hey, two fingers is better then none." Asher hummed, staring at where his pinky and ring finger use to be. Instead, they were stumps. "I was treated almost as soon as it happened. They're not fully healed yet, hence the bandage. But, a doctor may try and see if I can get robot fingers. So cool." Asher said as he bandaged them back up, Levi helping him.

"At least you're not that sad about it.." Marigold said quietly and Asher bit his lip. He hated lying to his mom, but he had to. "Haha, yeah." Asher said with a smile, ignoring Levi's eyes as he knew Levi gets upset when he lies. "The only disappointing thing is, your left hand is where the wedding ring should go to symbolize eternal love." Levi mumbled and Asher stood on his tip toes, kissing Levi's on the cheek.

"As if we need a finger to confirm that." Asher teased and Levi smiled at him, holding his hand again.
