I awoke to the phone ringing loudly. I couldn't help but hope that my eyes, currently glaring daggers at the phone across the room, would make the ringing device blow up into smithereens. Alas I failed and in the end had to get up off the floor with a sore back and puffy eyes. I probably looked a sight. Ha!

'Hello?'

'Hi Olive! I just wanted to ring and say dinner is at six so i'll be down to collect you with Grace in ten minutes. Everyone will be going the carnival straight after so, wear something warm and cute!' shouted the voice of Summer down the phone. I couldn't put the phone right against my ear due to the shouting ringing in my head.

We chatted idly for a few minutes, leaving even less for me to get ready. When I hung up I quickly got dressed into dark skinny jeans and my heavy cream jumper. I also pulled on my Uggs and left my hair down. There was no way I was putting on make-up just to look cute for a carnival.

There was a knock on my door, followed by two girls giggling, just as I finished putting some of my reading books on my bedside table.

'Hi! This is Grace. Remember my room mate that I was telling you about that is also my best friend?' I nodded confirming her question that yes, I did indeed remember.

On the way out I grabbed my leather jacket and followed behind them all the way down the corridor. I tried to block out all the madness of the pink but it was futile.

Listening to them talk about boys, I smiled. Graced reminded me a lot of Raven. She looked a little like her too, with her blonde hair and killer cheek bones. I missed her already. I wonder if she hates me now, I guess it doesn't matter now after all im stuck here now. The only thing that matters now is that I stay focused and do well to learn everything quickly. The sooner i'm out of here the better. Something doesn't feel right.

I looked up as we exited the dorm part of the building into the night sky only to go straight across into a bigger building made of cobblestone, just like the castles exterior I note.

Two big wooden doors, from the ceiling to the floor come into view as we turn right towards the end of the hall is. They're wide open revealing a banquet hall. People were moving into it in a steady stream and I nearly punched myself.

No wonder the girls said look cute. This was a mixed school! As if I didn't already have enough to worry about. Now I have to make an effort to look presentable, for the sake of the female race.

I must of groaned not only mentally but physically, causing Grace and Sumner to look at me funny.

'Sorry. I didn't realise it was a mixed school until just now', I sigh. Nothing seems to be going right lately, especially today.

They both giggle and beckon me to follow behind them.

'We expect you to sit with us, just at least till you settle in that is', shouts behind her shoulder and over the din of everyone talking.

I put one step in front of the other as I follow the girls becoming increasingly more aware the noise dying down and everyones eyes watching. A tingle shoots up my back and I look up and around. Something about this feeling tells me its important like I need the object creating this sensation.

Thump!

Ouch! 'Sorry', I mouth to Summer. I rub my nose and turn to face the people at the table on my left. Three boys look back at me. All three are goodlooking too and I notice as I glance up the long table that all of the boys and girls are handsome or pretty. Funny.
