Chloe's POV (Mortal)
For most, weekends could be spent hanging out with friends, playing games with family, or staying up late watching a movie marathon with a bowl of popcorn in hand.
Chloe was not 'most'.
While others around her were able to enjoy the weekend, Chloe was left to complete a final project for her photography and journalism.
She hated when she procrastinated.
It was late afternoon as Chloe toured New York City, her camera in a bag that was slung across her shoulder, and her pencil and pad of paper in her tight grip. With only days left before her project was due, she was determined to find a topic worthy of the flash of her camera and the scribbling of her pencil.
And she knew just where to start.
Just days before, breaking news aired on TV. Sightings all across the country of strange creatures and abnormal teens with powers and weapons popped up. After a few studies, officials decided that these creatures and teens were myths.
Greek myths, to be exact.
Now, you can imagine just how much panic and confusion the world was thrown into one this discovery and odd sightings had been confirmed. Myths were real?
Apparently so. And Chloe decided to make the best of the situation.
According to the television broadcast, a large number of the sightings took place in California and New York. Whatever the reason for that was, Chloe had no idea. All that mattered to her, at that point, was the fact that her home state had all the newsworthy stories she could possibly need.
Now, all she needed was to capture the story, both visually and verbally.
The only problem: where do you find a supposed-to-be-myth in a bustling city like NYC?
For hours, Chloe roamed the streets of New York City. The sun had dipped beneath the horizon, leaving the skyscrapers and streetlights the job of illuminating the city.
Stars were barely visible in the orange city-sky, and Chloe, disappointed that she had stumbled upon nothing, decided to head back to her boarding school dorm room.
After dropping her camera bag, pad, and pencil down on her desk, and getting ready for bed, Chloe was slipping under the covers when voices froze her in place.
Shouting and... growling? sounded from the alleyway that Chloe's dorm window looked out into.
Scrambling from her bed, she quickly made her way to her window, quietly opening it so she could peer out.
What she saw shocked her, confused her, and amazed her all at once.
Below her window, were three figures. There wasn't much light, but Chloe could just make out a little girl, a taller teenager standing protectively in front of the child, and what looked like a giant dog.
