Deep down in his heart, Wang Yunfan felt very proud of his performance. It wasn't so obviously kind as he had purposely masked them with harshness. As a person who's not proficient in acting, he found satisfaction in his way of approaching his disciple. In his eyes, the act was already good enough to fool others; or at least just enough to keep them from thinking that he's possessed or the like.
However, in truth he lacked the elegance inside the cruelty which the previous Wang Yunfan had practiced. His purposely harsh way of doing things gave off a grounded, human feeling as opposed to the original. Another mistake was that he's quite the eager person and a doting parent at heart, which was proved to be difficult to control. Thankfully his facial expressions kept most of his image believable. The novel Wang Yunfan, who had barely smiled in his life had left his facial muscles stiff and cold which contrasts his fire spiritual roots. This was an advantage for twenty first century Wang Yunfan because he lacked the ability to conceal his emotions.
Wang Yunfan walked along the long halls of his residence, occasionally glancing back to see if his disciple was still following him. Despite the giving him the time to wash himself, Jing Zhilian still looked quite dirty. His face was covered with grime and his clothes were dark with dirt. He looked just like an abandoned puppy on the side of the road in a cold, rainy day; which was how Wang Yunfan had previously imagined in the duration of their short walk.
Two minutes passed by and they finally arrived to a guest room. Wang Yunfan slid open the door and ushered his disciple in before shutting it back.
Whatever he's about to do, it was better for only the two of them know. If something like this was seen in the eyes of others, they would surely ask questions or worse, become suspicious of Lianhua peak's master. On Wang Yunfan's mission to gain his disciple's trust, he'd mostly rely on the fact that no one would believe Jing Zhilian if he does decide to tell others that the cruel Wang Yunfan had suddenly changed. He also placed a lot of trust in his disciple's closed and quiet personality—in which he'd have to fix later on.
Jing Zhilian stared at his master's back warily. They were now alone, just the two of them; which usually wasn't a good sign seeing the nice room he was in. He really hoped the master isn't going to do what he thinks he's going to do. He opened his mouth slightly, wanting to speak, but his master beat him to it.
"Take off your clothes."
Jing Zhilian immediately felt cold.
Wang Yunfan turned around to face the young boy. His face was still stern and aloof, very serious and quite frankly terrifying. Especially when coupled with those words.
"Take off your clothes." Wang Yunfan repeated. He really did want to sound commanding, but in actuality the way he said it just sounded wrong.
"W-what?" Jing Zhilian stuttered as he reflexively hugged himself and took a few good steps back, making sure that what's left of his dirty clothes covers whatever's exposed. He was quite young and had not fully understood the concept of love making, but he knew from an early age where this was going as his mother had warned him before. However, despite the cruelty he had experienced, he had not thought of his master to be this kind of person. Has his days of being depraved of worldly desires left him craving for young boys? Or was it because he couldn't have his mother, so he decided to go after him instead?
Wang Yunfan raised his brow at the boy's actions. He still hasn't found anything wrong with what he said and even thought of it as something quite normal. Just like how a parent would do to their child right? However he hadn't taken to account that the novel Wang Yunfan wasn't exactly a parental figure or someone who would do anything like this. But Wang Yunfan really wasn't one to care for that. His focus wasn't exactly on the original plot, but just to make sure he treats his 'son' humanely enough so that he'll stay alive for a couple more chapters. That, and added with a sense of duty to raise the boy into a gallant young man. He didn't know how long he was going to be in this world after all, so a change of character was an obligation if he wanted to guaranty his life.
