A/N: I finally have the time to update! Here it is, Chapter 8. I hope you enjoy! Stick around for an extra A/N in the bottom~

The walls of the cliff were dark and had minuscule caves placed around randomly. The moment Wang Yunfan's feet landed on the bottom of the cliff, he could already sense a few, quite powerful demon beasts nearby, most likely crept inside of the small cavities.

Stealthily, he sped along the cliff grounds, making sure that he had concealed his presence. Although he was sure that this body's cultivation was enough to get out of here unscathed, he didn't want to unnecessarily harm these beasts as they were still valuable to the sect. So he must make do with the circumstances. And of course, this whole situation had to be as low profile as possible. If anyone found out that the Lianhua Peak disciples went missing in the Black Beast Mountain area due to the peak lord's negligence, he'd be more than a laughingstock; he'd be condemned.

The bottom of the cliff was surprisingly cold and damp. Rocks and dead trees were scattered everywhere haphazardly and an abundance of dead bones decorated the dark soil with its dull white colour. Soft mist covered the whole ground, making it rather difficult to see. This gave off an eerie look to it, much like an open grave. Wang Yunfan could have sworn that he saw a few human skulls there.

Soon enough the road split into three, which lead to three different caverns. Wang Yunfan carefully scrutinized the three, but couldn't find a single clue to his disciple's whereabouts. There was no sign whatsoever. The rocky surface of the front cave's grounds did not leave any sufficient clues and the weight of the young Jing Zhilian couldn't have possibly made any imprints on the dense, black soil.

However he did see strange, orange sized holes spread across the ground.

Wang Yunfan let out a small sigh, though his cold face was plastered with annoyance, inside he felt quite anxious. What he did only made the plot difficult to handle. Without the guidance of the original plot, he couldn't have known where his disciple went. The caverns, to his knowledge were deep. Checking all three would not only tire him, but also produce unnecessary casualties. He was aware that his spiritual powers have been greatly exhausted the past week, and who knows how long until he find the boy with that strategy. Jing Zhilian might as well be dead by the time he found him.

As he pondered for a solution, he suddenly saw movement on the corner of his eyes accompanied with soft weeping?

Wang Yunfan turned to his side where he saw an adult sized rock and approached it, the sobs and whimpering getting louder by every step. His heart beat rose. Was it his first opponent? Perhaps it was trying to lure him over by weeping, he thought. But then again, he couldn't feel anything beyond that rock. No demonic energy nor righteous, and to his knowledge, most demonic or sacred beasts likes to present themselves with power so this was certainly unusual.

The peak lord stopped around three steps away from the rock, his back was straight and his head was slightly tilted up like that of a great superior to prepare for a frontal 'attack'. A classic tactic of intimidation 101. With a not so loud, yet clear and domineering voice, he said,

"Reveal yourself."

Originally, he had expected the sobbing to stop, but instead it grew louder. Did he trigger his opponent? Did he do something wrong?

Memories and (worst case scenario) calculations of possible scenes and character appearances filled Wang Yunfan's head like a freeway on rush hour, but despite his worries, he stood his ground and calmly waited.

In less than three seconds, he suddenly felt something short and plump run flat towards his legs and hugged his waist. And as soon as that occurred, he felt some sort of wetness seeping into his robes.
