Lucifer Novak Tuesday, September 5th, 2026

Lucifer, Sam, and Jack Novak walked through the doors of Truman Elementary School. Today was Jack's first day of kindergarten.

The previous night, Sam and Lucifer had stayed awake in bed until about twelve A.M. worrying. Lucifer was worried that their son was going to get bullied by other students. He knew it was cliche to worry about that type of thing, but he couldn't turn away from the doubts and fears in his mind.

Sam had stayed up with him and comforted him. Lucifer thought that was kind of his husband. He still couldn't believe that he was so lucky as to have a soulmate that was a great husband, friend, brother, and father.

Today, they both called off of work so that they could have alone time together. They didn't get much of that anymore now that Jack was with them, but Lucifer didn't find himself regretting anything.

Once they found the classroom that Jack would be sharing with twenty other boys and girls, Lucifer began to feel the doubts and fears from earlier creep back into his mind. They were drowned out by Jack giving Lucifer a hug on his leg. Lucifer picked Jack up to return the hug, and Jack kissed Lucifer on the forehead.

"I love you, papa," Jack said, smiling.

"I love you too," Lucifer replied, then handed Jack off to Sam.

Lucifer heard Sam and Jack exchange words of love as well.

Once he was on his feet, Jack waved goodbye, then walked into the classroom. All of a sudden, Lucifer realized tears were running down his face.

"He'll be alright," He heard Sam say as he pulled Lucifer into a hug.

"I know. I'm being stupid," Lucifer replied, taking a deep breath.

They walked hand-in-hand to the car. Sam pulled him into a kiss before going to the passenger's side of the car. Lucifer couldn't honestly be more thankful for Sam than he was right now.
