Regina was stranded on the bus that day. Almost as if she was reliving when she would get lost in the grocery when she was little. There was this nauseous feeling that came with this solitude though; worry. She was worried for Aubrey. She was worried that maybe, just maybe, that Calum would break her heart. Regina herself has experienced such tragedy and would do anything to shield Aubrey from its dangers.

Other than the worrisome fear of something that probably won't happen (Regina would like to think), she was struck with another awful feeling. Boredom. She might as well memorized the whole goddamn bus article for article. The pasty white ceiling with noticeable bolts jutting out, the huge gearshift that controlled the bus's ungodly u-turns, the sickly green leather-covered seat worn away from years of gum, backpacks, knives (for etching of course), and the students themselves. While examining the bus, Regina's phone, on full volume, beeped signaling a text.

"Shit!" She yelled and practically jumped to the roof. The driver gave her a stern look which she replied with a timid one as if apologizing for her cursing.

She took her phone out of her backpack and read the message she received from Ashton,

our spot at 7? xoxo :*

Regina smiled a small smile but the brightness behind it signaled the genuineness of it. She replied.

our spot at 7 :) xxoo

She turned around to look at Ashton. He had just received her text. He looked up at her and winked at her beaming face very quickly to avoid any unwanted attention from the passengers. Teenagers gossiped about everything they could turn into a rumor.

Isn't he just perfect? Regina thought. She was about ready to swoon over Ashton when the bus came to an abrupt halt hailing her stop. She stood up and managed to be the first one out. An unlikely event seeing as all the kids pushed and shoved each other out of the way. She was walking towards her street when she heard a familiar, Australian accent calling her name. She turned around and waited for the boy to catch up.

"Hi Regina, is it okay if I walk with you?" Calum asked. Regina shrugged. She didn't really care. They continued in silence until Calum spoke up again.

"Do you think Aubrey likes me?" Calum questioned.

"Yeah. Why?" Regina said but she thought like doesn't even begin to describe it.

"Well, not like that, I mean like me," Calum inferred

Regina decided that good friends don't share their friends secrets. Even if it was an obvious one.

"I don't know," Regina said in a tone suggesting that it is quite possible for Aubrey to like Calum. Calum nodded.

"What do you guys talk about?" Regina asked out of curiosity. There has to be something about Calum other than his looks and happy personality that makes him so special.

"Everything," Calum responded before she even finished her question. "We talk about ourselves mainly. I like getting to know who she is. But I can tell she likes our other conversations much better."

"You guys seem to get along pretty well," Regina told Calum.

"We do, although her music taste does need some brushing up on," Calum let out a little giggle remembering the argument they had over her favorite artist.

"Keep on trying Calum, but I have been trying to get her to at least like some good artists for years," Regina informs him.

They spend the rest of the walk discusing music which then drifted into various subjects. When they finally parted, Regina decided she liked Calum, but not necessarily as much as Aubrey.

-their spot at 7-

Ashton waited patiently sitting under the willow tree at their spot. He felt as though he'd been waiting for days, years even. He checked his phone for the time and any sign of Regina. The time was 7:05 pm, and Regina had not messaged him. She's late. Why is she always fucking late? Ashton thought. Although he would never admit it, Regina took up most, if not all, of his thoughts. He found it hard to stop thinking about her and regularly wondered how one person could be that damn amazing that they consume your mind.

It wasn't until 7:07pm Regina showed up. Ashton immediately demanded an explanation from her.She told him that she had to finish up her math homework. Ashton, finding it a seemingly believable explanation, let it go. How could he be mad at her for being late anyways? It's not like she's cheating on him. They both sat down and Ashton laced his fingers with hers, marvelling at how well their hands fit together.

"Why do we have to be a secret?" Ashton pouted. He didn't like hiding his relationship from his friends. He didn't even like having secrets.

"Because if Aubrey finds out, I think we'll have to brake up," Regina sighed. She re-positioned herself so that she was sitting in between Ashton's legs, her back pressed against his stomach, their hands still interlocked.

"But if she knows that we're happy together she'll be okay with it, right?" Ashton said.

"I suppose so" Regina admitted, playing with Ashton's fingers.

"So why can't we go public? Neither of us are really popular, I guess, we don't need to worry about that stupid reputation shit. You're only a year younger than me, it's not that weird!" Ashton did make a good argument.

"We just...can't," was Regina's only firearm in her arsenal at the moment.

"But one day, right?" Ashton asked as if he were scared they would be a secret forever.

"One day," Regina quietly agreed.
