Ashton was supposed to meet Regina at some local restaurant at 6. They had texted each other setting up the date. That was no problem. The dilemma he was facing was getting out of his house unscathed. His mother constantly worried about him. He didn't know why. He was better now. Besides. who would care about Ashton anyways?

It was 5:27. He faced several obstacles. Well, really only one. Mom. He had to get to her car.

"Hey honey," she smiled when saw him. Ashton walked into the kitchen.

"Hi mom. Can I borrow your car?" He asked.

"Sure, but why?"

"I want to go hang out with Calum. He lives on the other side of town."

"Okay. Be back before ten." Ashton's mother was not only caring of him, but very overprotective. That kinda sucked for Ash.

"Alright. Bye mom."

"Bye. Have fun."

That went surprisingly well. The last time Ashton had asked to borrow the car, his mom said no. They got into an argument that ended with 3 days worth of grounding. Ashton grabbed the keys off the table and practically sprinted to the car before his mom changed her mind. He started it up and put on his favorite radio station. Soon enough, he was at the restaurant. Some crummy old diner that Regina insisted had the best food in town. It looked more like a shit hole than the five star restaurant she mad it out to be. He walked in through the door and saw Regina smiling at him from a corner booth.

"Hi," she grinned when he sat down.

"Hello gorgeous," he complimented. Regina blushed. How did I manage to find someone as amazing as Ashton? she thought to herself.

"You look handsome," she replied. Ashton wasn't use to compliments. In fact, he was used to the opposite of them.

"Thanks."

As Regina opened her mouth to speak, the waitress approached the table, taking out the pen from behind her ear to take their order.

"Would you two like anything to drink?" She asks.

"Can I have a root beer float?" Regina asks with much etiquette.

"Make that two please," Ashton smiles at the waitress. She nods and walks away to place their order.

They both start looking at their menus. Ashton just decides that he'll get a burger. No one can go wrong with a burger. He ends up staring at Regina through the menu. She looks up at him and giggles. He wiggles his eyebrows and she responds with more laughter. After a few minutes of their telepathic banter, they place down the menus.

Ashton looks down at his arms. Shit. He forgot to wear bracelets with his short-sleeved shirt. I'll just have to keep the paler side of arms on the table. That should work.

"What are you thinking about?" Regina asks.

"I'm thinking about how we should go public," Ashton says.

"This again?" Reg sighs.

"Yeah Regina. This again. Do you have any idea how much willpower it takes for me not to kiss you every time I see you in the halls at school?" Ashton reasons. All he wants is somethings normal in his life. Just one thing. A normal relationship. A high school sweetheart. But for whatever reason. Regina opposed this thought.
