2 days later Reggie was in his car with his driver Frankie, waiting outside the Astor's palatial house over at the West End. They had already been waiting for over an hour.
Reg: You sure she hasn't left?
Frank: No, Albie said only the father and son left in their car this morning. Perhaps she isn't heading out today.
Reg: Wait wait, there's a car coming out.
Indeed there was a car coming out and they could see Kaelyn through the window as it turned in front of them onto the main road. They followed the car and found it driving towards the East End.
Frank: This is our neighbourhood.
Reg: (to himself) What are you doing here Kaelyn?
She walked into the diner.
Reg: I'm going in. Frank go wait by the corner.
Reggie got out and followed her in. She was seated in one of the booths and had removed her gloves and her sunglasses. He approached her and was stopped by a guard.
Guard: Sorry sir, private area.
Reg: Hi, I know Kaelyn. Hi Kaelyn!
Kae: (looked up) Oh Reggie! Max it's ok, I know Reggie.
Reggie shimmied past the tall burly guard and sat in the booth.
Reg: So I found you. (she smiled) In my part of the town no less. Were you looking for me too?
Kae: Well, no, not really. I come here very often.
Reg: Really? In East London?
Kae: Yes! They have myfavourite pancake with scrambled eggs here. Right Fiona? (she smiled up at thewaitress who arrived at their table)
Fio: Oh yes, the usual then Ms. Astor? And you Reggie?
Reg: My usual too.
Fio: Pancakes, bacon, scrambled, toast and beans coming up then.
Reg: Wait, if this is your regular, why have I never seen you here before?
Kae: I don't know. Well I only recently came back from my studies in France. I was there for 2 years. Before that I was here maybe once a week. But I was....rather forgettable then.
Reg: Forgettable? You have been seared into my memory.
Kae: (laughs) Well I hope that doesn't mean it's painful memories. I was a late bloomer, I was rather unremarkable till I went to Paris and learnt a thing or two.
Reg: Interesting.
They chatted over their meal, laughing and not talking about business or gang related stuff. Reggie insisted to get the check and then asked
Reg: So when do I get to buy you a drink?
Reg: No, no, a drink is a drink. It has to be taken at a fancy nightclub with music and dancing. That's a proper date for a drink.
Kae: (tilting her head to the side) I am available this Saturday.
Reg: Ok. I'm not sure how your parents feel about me coming to pick you up at your palace?
Kae: Pick me up at Knightsbridge then.
Reg: 7 pm.
Kae: It's a date. (pecks his cheek, then leaves)
Reggie watched as she sashayed out of the diner.
REg: Fiona! Has Ms. Astor really been here many times before?
Fio: Oh yes, since she was a little girl, 15-16 years old? Then she left to study, she said. She just came back Christmas last year.
Kaelyn smiled to herself in the car, Reggie was turning out to be quite charming actually. She hasn't really figure out the exact plan she has in mind for the Kray brothers, but she was definitely very attracted to Reggie. She needed him to at least fall for her, and that would be her leverage against the Krays.
