Due to his reputation as a thug, the prison guards had beat him up the moment stepped through the locked doors. He was dragged to his cell, but not before feigning to beg for mercy while nabbing the chief guard's handcuffs. He pleaded for water, and the Chief Guard told him to beg louder so the inmates can hear Reggie Kray begging. Reggie played along to get the guard to him, before chaining him to the prison gate with the handcuffs, commandeering the baton and knocking him senseless.
Kaelyn was in Reggie's favourite sweetshop, buying him his favourite lemon sherbet when Ronnie saw her, and stopped her in front of the shop.
Ron: Reg says to tell younot to go see him first.
Kae:Did he say why?
Ron: No. Whaddya get?
Kae: Lemon sherbets.
Ron: Me favourite. Can I have one?
Kaelyn took one out and gave it to Ron.
Ron lifted and arm and walked off, his way of saying goodbye. He hated sentimentality.
Of course Kaelyn went tosee him in prison. His left eye was swollen and bruised, he had cuts on hiseyebrow and lips.
Reg: I told Ron to tell you not to come.
Kae: Why not?
Reg: I don't want you to see me like this. And I don't like you in prison. You're an Astor, you shouldn't be here.
Kae: Well too late forthat. Who did this to you?
Reg: (indicating with his head) That nutsack there. I did him good too.
Kae: Do you want me to deal with him?
Reg: (taken aback, is this gangster Kaelyn talking?) What?
Kae: I can get him fired, his family threatened.
Reg: Whoah, whoah....don't mess with Kaelyn Astor huh. I love that you offer baby, but I can handle it.
Kae: (passing the bag of candies) I got you sherbets.
Reg: (grinning) I love you.
Kae: Get out soon. And stay alive till you do.
Reg: I will.
Unfortunatelyin the 6 months without Reggie's presence in his life, Ronnie got wilder andcrazier, egged on by 2 idiotic crackheads he took on as his assistants. Ronnieharassed casino patrons, raving and ranting. He hated the business side of it,he wanted to beat people up and get into crazy fights like he did with Reggiewhen they were first starting out. When they walk into a room and instil fearin the people. Who cares about respect? He wanted them to fear him. So he wenton stage and taunted the audience, he scared performers off stage and startedsmashing bottles at patrons who did not laugh at his jokes. Kaelyn avoided theEast End without Reggie in it, so she didn't know how bad it was, though she hadheard that Ronnie was causing trouble.
Theday Reggie came out of prison, he went over to Havana Club, where he was toldFreddie King and Erwin were. He requested an audience with Freddie King, andwas let through into the private room. He felt encouraged when Freddie greetedhim with a hug. Erwin was still distant and just nodded at him. At least Erwinwas not hostile.
Fred: What brings you here, Reggie? Just got out of prison?
Reg: Yes sir. Just this morning.
