Tres had to deal with Hachi when he was sick at night before. But this was something straight out of Hell.

Hachi slept for a while and then awoke to vomit or cry over pain he felt, he'd slip into a small panic state and try to chew his tentacles, then he'd be starving and just couldn't stop eating until he passed out again and the cycle started. Tres was amazed Hachi wasn't pregnant. But considering the book said those infected by Inkblot lacked an appetite, Tres decided it was probably a good thing Hachi was so hungry.

Come morning, fatigue finally set in and Hachi slept in for a while. Tres sat in the bed beside the Octoling, who slept peacefully with a thumb in his mouth. Tres stared at him for a while before rubbing the exhaust from his eyes.

'How can someone so little and soft be so exhausting...' He thought.

Hachi stirred in his sleep and coughed lightly before settling and sucking on his thumb again. Tres made a content smile and kissed his head.

"You're lucky you're so cute..."

Tres got up to make breakfast, knowing for sure Hachi would be hungry when he woke up. His plan was to try and find Spyke to ask him about his supposed past as a doctor, but Tres didn't want to leave Hachi home alone, and definitely didn't want to risk getting someone else sick while watching him. It didn't seem like there were too many choices...

After Hachi woke up, and vomited again, Tres helped him get comfortable in the living room with breakfast. Once Hachi was content, Tres held his hands.

"Darling? I have to leave for a little while and you'll have to be by yourself for a bit, ok?" He told him.

"Sis isn't coming...?" Hachi looked tired.

"No, sweetie, she can't come today..."

Tres brushed his thumbs against Hachi's cheeks.

"Do you think you'll be ok by yourself for a while?"

Hachi zoned out for a moment, thinking about the situation. He didn't want to be by himself with this awful feeling, but if Tres was doing something that could help he didn't want to stop him...

"I guess I'll be fine... I can always go back to sleep..."

Tres kissed his forehead before smiling and holding the younger boy close.

"You're so cute my chubby little sushi roll~" He left kisses all over Hachi's cheek and, for the first time in a while, the Octoling was smiling and laughing.

Soon enough, Tres was on his way to Inkopolis Square, although he was still worried for his lover.

"He'll be fine..." He told himself. "He'll be fine..."

When Tres got to the square, he made his way through the large crowds of kids toward one of the back allies. He didn't see Spyke around as often as he did a few years ago. Now he only knew one person that was in contact with the urchin. And, boy, did Tres hate him.

Right now, Murch was sitting by the lobby entrance with a bored look as an Octoling girl was angrily yelling at him.

"Why is the price so high?! You said 10,000, why the hell is it 15,000 now?!" She was screaming.

"These shoes are really high in demand," Murch gestured to a fancy pair of high tops. "I can go sellin' them at cheap prices, chum," he told the girl rudely.

"I was just here an hour ago, how did they become high in demand in an hour?!"

"Look, dear, either get the extra 5,000 before the day ends or I trash the shoes."
