It was all over the news that the pop stars, Callie and Marie, were missing. That's all they talked about for almost a week. Tres cared about the girls, there was no denying that, but he wished the news would focus more on the condition of Inkopolis.

"Hey, Marina?"

"Mhmm?" She answered from her desk.

"How do you think they'll clean the city...?"

"In a humane way, hopefully. But by the sound of it, that's not gonna be possible."

"That's what I was afraid of. Spyke said they dropped acid bombs in the wars." Tres recalled.

"Good god, I hope they don't do that..."

Marina spun around in her computer chair so she could see the TV screen too.

"Have they mentioned anything about Átta?" She asked.

"Not once. I don't even think they know her name." Tres said, disgusted.

"By the looks of the hospital's security cams, a lot of patients suddenly hit terminal and went crazy. I think a couple doctors were injured or killed."

"So a lot of people are being drowned in acid, you mean?"

   "Yeah... pretty much."

Finally fed up with the pathetic newscasts, Tres grabbed the remote and changed the channel to some old show about baking.

"There was supposed to be a Splatfest this weekend..." Marina said. "It was gonna be Coffee vs. Tea... Pearl and I were so excited for it, we couldn't wait to announce it..."

"That sounds fun. I definitely would've been Team Coffee."

"Wow, you say that right in front of me?"

Tres started laughing while Marina faked an offended face. He almost forgot about Turf Wars after the Inkblot started. It'd be nice to do one again someday...

"Well, it's almost nine, I'm gonna see if Hachi's up."

Tres hopped up from the couch and left the living room heading upstairs to the bedroom him and Hachi stayed in. He was happy to be able to walk fine again; Spyke was right, he practically forgot his stitches were there. As he somewhat expected, his lover was still in bed bundled up in his blankets. Tres leaned on the bedside and poked at Hachi's neck.

   "Sweetie~ wake up~"

"Mmm..." Hachi whined and scrunched up in a ball.

"Wake up~"

Hachi rolled over so he was facing away. Taking that as a challenge, Tres climbed on the bed and brushed his fingers over Hachi's arm.

"You can't sleep forever, cutie~!"

The Octoling started to smile when hands tickled his stomach and he broke out in laughter.

   "Traci, stop it!"

"Look at this chubby tummy~! My precious lil' goofball eats too much~" Tres cooed and nuzzled Hachi.

"Fine, fine, I'll get up! Stop already~!" Hachi pushed Tres's hands away. "Why can't I just sleep forever? The bed is so comfy." He pouted.

"I know, sweetie." Tres kissed Hachi's forehead before pulling him up. "Go on and get dressed and I'll take you for a walk, ok?"

"Ok, Traci!"

  Hello everyone.

I apologize for the very short, very weak chapter, but my motivation has been very lacking as of late.

On Thursday I finally told my mother I was having suicidal thoughts and she took me out of school early so we could get me tested at a hospital. There isn't anything wrong with me physically so that's good. Later today I will be seeing a therapist to figure out the best course of action for me.

This book, along with other ones, will be finishing very soon so I can focus more on the new ones, but expect slower updates.

Some of you probably ignored this note and didn't read. But to those of you that did read, thank you for listening ☺️
