Chapter 1

Envy's POV

Flashback

I stood in the crowd next to a few chattering girls. Usually, being the curious girl I am, I would try to join in, but something told me the girls wouldn't welcome me. My name being called from the list broke me from my thoughts.

"Envy Walters!" Professor Mcgonigal called my name. I took a deep breath, and stepped up to sit on the chair. As I felt the sorting hat being placed on my head, I saw the girls that were chattering before giggling and looking at my shoes. I shuffled my feet. I wasn't wearing the proper shoes, and I knew it. I was wearing black high-tops with blood red laces. I had forgotten my proper shoes at home. The hats voice broke me from my thoughts.

"Very very difficult... very... difficult. Strong personality, a bit sullen. Determination to prove yourself... And a bit of hostility. But there is something strange behind the brilliant mind... something I can't explain... No matter! RAVENCLAW!" I smiled as I jumped from the chair and ran down to sit with the other Ravenclaw students. I liked my new house, but the hat's words echoed through my head.

But there is something strange behind that brilliant mind... Something I can't explain...

I glanced over at the Gryffindor table. Two of the girls that were looking at my shoes had been placed there.
"Tyla Grant!" Professor Mcgonigal called.
(A/N: Tyla Grant is also an OC. Who I made up)
A young girl with brunette hair stepped up to sit in the chair. "Hmmm.... Yes..... Yes..... RAVENCLAW!" the hat exclaimed. She jumped up smiling, and ran to sit at the table. she sat about five seats up from me.
"Enna Grace!" Professor Mcgonigal called. Enna ran up to sit in the chair. The hat said something, but I wasn't paying attention. "....RAVENCLAW!" Enna ran down to sit next to Tyla, and the two girls started talking excitedly.

"Suzan Bonds" Professor Mcgonigal called. I recognised
her to be one of the girls that were looking at my shoes. I felt someone watching me, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw Tyla Grant and Enna Grace watching me with big curious eyes. I also saw Suzan Bonds with some of the other girls still giggling at me. Oh well, I'll find some friends. How hard could it be...?

•~*~•~*~•two year later•~*~•~*~•

I walked slowly to my class, taking my own sweet time. Ancient ruins is my favourite subject. The same girls from first year were walking by me, who I now know to be Hermione Granger, Parvati Patil and Lavender Brown from Gryffindore, Pansy Parkinson from Slytherin, Padma Patil and Penelope clearwater from Ravenclaw, and Suzan Bonds from Hufflepuff
"Oh hi Envy!" Lavender said sweetly. "Um.. hi, Lav." I say. She looks at me with distaste. "Only my friends can call me that!" She . All four of them walked off. I rolled my eyes.
Oh my gosh, these girls are messed.

I walk into potions class, late as usual.

"Again, you are late Miss Walters." Professor Snape says.

"Sorry, Professor." I say sarcastically. I prop my feet up on my desk and fiddle with my nose piercing.

"Feet DOWN, Miss Walters."
I roll my eyes at the giggling girls as I take my feet down.
Marietta tosses a note at me, which hits me in the side of the head. Again I hear the girls giggle. While Professor Snape is busy explaining some random potion stuff, I open the crumbled paper.

Stop flashing around your expensive Emo boots, Miss Walters! It's not gonna suddenly lift your place on the popularity chain!

I'm not emo.

I thought. She was being sarcastic about the expensive part. My boots were obviously not expensive. I tossed the note back at her and mouthed, Thanks for the advice!
Again this made the girls laugh, but I seriously couldn't care less.
