Speechless

Roman sat at his desk 20 minutes before his class and was just thinking. Was he being unreasonable? He was sure Veronica had a very valid reason for kissing Seth and maybe he was being too stubborn.

What if she finally realized she could do better than him? What if she realized that she was better off with someone her own age?

Roman had been avoiding all her calls and attempts at talking to him

He jumped when his classroom door opened and closed and Veronica stood there looking at him

She walked over to put her books on her table and then over to him and he quickly looked down at his papers on his desk and she stopped infront of him

"You done avoiding me?" She asked and Roman didn't answer, just kept grading his papers

Ronnie opened her mouth and whatever she was gonna say was cut off by the bell ringing and Roman let out a sigh of relief and Ronnie gave him a hurt look and clenched her fists as she walked back to her desk and sat down, folding her arms and rocking back

Roman straightened his tie as his classroom door opened and the rest of his students filtered in

All through Roman's teacher, Ronnie had a petulant frown on her face and Roman knew this was hurting her, him avoiding her was hurting her but what could he do? He was hurt to.

Roman was walking around the class to make sure the students were taking notes

"What's wrong?" Dean asked Veronica and she casted him a look and sighed, shaking her head and Roman's heart clenched in pain

He loved her. Of fucking course he did. He didn't like to see her sad but the pride of a man was his own destruction

"Okay class, I hope you all did your poems," Roman said and being everyone's favourite teacher, meant that everyone does his homework

He walked around and collected all the papers and went back to his desk

He didn't have to worry about Ronnie coming back to talk to him, because as soon as the bell rang for the end of the class, she briskly walked out and there was that stupid clench in his heart again

Later that night, found Ronnie crying into Seth's shoulder while he rubbed her back

"I fucked everything up S," she sobbed and Seth sighed sadly

Ronnie was his best friend, he hated seeing her like this.

Meanwhile, Roman was speechless. He had just graded his class' papers and was now staring at Ronnie's poem

Tanned skin, grey eyes
Bright smile, suit and ties
Face like an angel, a feather like kiss

He talks like summer, warm and pleasant
He moves like the rain, graceful and soft
His body strong and tough
His hands calloused and rough

He's my warm place when the world is cold
24 and very wise
Looking in his eyes, I see my heart's prize
He could have his pick of beautiful girls
But he tells me I'm his entire world

Long black hair and a perfect mind
So soulful, beautiful and kind
A man like him you'd never find
Because he's all mine

6 foot 3 with an attitude to match
I'll forever be proud of myself for landing such a catch
Maybe I used this poem as an excuse to say
I think about you every day
Every hour, every minute, every second
All the time, you are always on my mind

We've been together for quite some time
I like to think of us as a sign
That something so pure can exist
My lips are still longing for your sweet kiss

I know what you saw and how it looked
But I still believe you "kiss by the book"
It's only you I want, now and again
Without your love, I've been going insane

Let me be your forever?
I hope you do
Because this thought I've been having
I've been scared to admit it, but it's true
I am so hopelessly in love with you

Roman was in shock. This poem that he assigned his class, was supposed to be about something or someone you love and Ronnie wrote a poem about him. Not only that, she said she was in love with him.

He could sense the emotion and love she poured into this poem and the use of language and stanzas were worthy of an A

He wiped his cheeks and sniffled as he picked up his phone and quickly dialled a familiar number and pressed the phone to his ear to listen to it ring

Seth gasped as he saw the caller ID

Incoming Call from Mr. Boyfriend❤🔐

He answered and put the phone on loudspeaker so Ronnie could hear hin

"Veronica?"

Her head snapped up when she heard the sweet bass voice float through the room

"Roman," she said in shock

"Hey babygirl, I'm sorry, so so sorry, can you please come over? Let's talk." He said and Ronnie sighed as Seth smiled widely at her

"Give me 10 minutes," she replied and Roman agreed and they hung up

Roman read over the poem again and was still speechless, to know that she had all this love and all these feelings for her and he was avoiding her? Made him feel absolutely horrible. He was determined to fix this though.
