Ronnie felt horrible. Since she ran out on Roman the other day, he hadn't spoken a word to her outside of class and it really hurt.
"Good morning class, today is kind of a free day so I'm just gonna issue you an assignment and then you can chill for the rest of the class," Mr. Reigns told them and cleared his throat as he picked up his black book
"You are to write a composition on love, which is the main theme of the book we've been doing," he explained
"Can it be a poem?" AJ asked, raising his hand and Mr. Reigns nodded
"Any form of composition. No word limit, based on love. Can be about someone you feel love and adoration for, a place, your pet, anything," he finished explain
"Due next class." He finished and sat down at his desk
Ronnie finished writing and closed her book, prepared to get up to go talk to Mr. Reigns, when AJ turned to her and began speaking
"Yo Ronnie, party at my place tonight, you down?" He asked and Ronnie watched Roman stare at the papers on his desk and she huffed
"Yeah of course, hope you got beer," she said and AJ smirked
"Yeah and tons of it," he replied and she fist bumped him
"You to Ambrose," AJ extended and Dean simply gave a two finger salute but Ronnie knew he'd come.
It was now 8 in the night and Ronnie had gotten dressed and she and Dean left for the party, 15 minutes later, she had a beer in her hand and an arm around Seth
She saw Dean making out with Renee in the corner and rolled her eyes, Dean was the drunkest of the three and would no doubt need help walking home, but they could all just stay at Ronnie's place
Though Ronnie's dad had came home to find she and one of the guys in some very compromising positions already, but he knew how close they were so he didn't question it
"Let's go outside," Ronnie whispered into Seth's ear and he stood up and they walked out together
They walked a little to the little park down the street, Dean would call them if he missed them.
Seth sat down first and Ronnie sat down after, Seth was a little drunk himself and he turned to face her
She closed her eyes when he traced his index finger down her temple to her cheek and then down her bottom lip and he watched in amazement
"How about we make Dean jealous?" He asked and Ronnie opened her eyes and nodded because that should work.
"Let's practice," she said with a laugh and she watched Seth lean closer to her and press his lips against hers. They weren't the full, plump ones she had grown accustomed with but
"Are you wearing lip balm?" She asked as she pulled away from Seth and he flushed
"Huh? Oh um yeah, it's cherry," he replied and she smiled and leaned in again, pressing their lips back together
"Joy would you sit still for 2 minutes?" Roman asked with a smile as he drove down Willow Avenue to drop his niece back home
He passed the park that was there and his eyes widened, was that Veronica? And Seth?! They were kissing. Is that why she ran out when he told her he loved her?
His jaw clenched and his hands tightened on the steering wheel. His worst fear had been realized
"Uncle Ro, are you alright?" Joy's little voice asked and Roman snapped out of it, quickly faking a smile and nodding
"Yeah Joy, I'm alright." He replied and the little girl went back to watching out the window
He should have known it was too good to be true. He just took a breath through his nose and continued driving
When Dean called them, they knew what to do and when they saw him come around the corner they immediately engaged in a lip lock
Dean slowed his pace and frowned at the sight, a dull ache in his chest as he interrupted them to begin their way home
Dean walked in the back of them and Seth and Ronnie discreetly fist bumped and for good measure, linked their fingers together. That was the most innocent action since they always held hands
When they got to Ronnie's house since it was first on the way, they decided to sleep in the living room, so continuing out their plan, Ronnie was snuggled into Seth's chest and his arm was around her. She felt when her phone vibrated

So Seth huh?
Ronnie took a few seconds to analyze the text and she took a shaky breath and her phone vibrated again

If you wanted someone more your age group and who you can be a couple with in public, you should've just told me, I would have been happy for you. What am I supposed to think now?
Ronnie bit her lip and sighed, rubbing her forehead
"You okay?" Seth asked from above her and she sighed and showed him the phone, his eyebrows furrowing in worry

I swear it's not what you think. I swear I'll explain tomorrow
She sent the text and waited for a while before the phone vibrated on her lap

Don't bother. Go be happy with Seth. You two are cute together
She could actually sense the tone of bitterness that Roman held through the phone
"Dean, when's our next Literature class?" She asked and Dean tapped his temple a few times
"I think Monday," he replied and Ronnie nodded
"You gonna be okay?" Seth asked quietly
"If I can get my boyfriend back, I will be," she admitted for only him to hear, already planning what she'd do to win her boyfriend back
Seth rubbed her shoulder comfortingly, and then kissed her temple, not missing the way Dean trained his blue eyes on them afterwards
