I stared at Addison in front of me. "He was the only one who knew you were still alive." I stated, knowing that Steve wouldn't tell a soul. "And died with that secret."

She nodded.

"I thought you said you 'pulled an escape'?" Becka asked suspiciously.

Addison pursed her lips. "It . . . just sounded cooler that way," she admitted.

I let out a slight laugh as I looked around at everyone. "Guess her story is better."

"Addison," Cam said, ignoring me. "You worked for them?"

She took a second to decide how to answer. "Not proud of it."

"But you know your way around and you know how they work?"

She nodded, "And all the juicy stuff in between."

Cam looked at me, as if he asked me a question, and then back to Addison. "Why are we worth so much money?"

Addison's mouth opened and formed silent words before actually speaking. "Um, well that is actually the one thing that I do not know. But! I can tell you that you guys are not worth that much money if you don't have multiple lives. Doesn't matter how many. And, that Linda is pretty much in this just for the money."

"What's her position in Area 9L?" Cam asked.

I looked at him carefully. He seemed to know what he was doing.

"She is the owner of Area 9L." Addison responded confidently.

My stomach kind of sank at the news. She was a lot more powerful than I thought.

Cam nodded and sat back in his seat. "How many Nine Lives are there total?"

"Five. You, Becka, Phoebe, Jace, and Carter."

Jace. My heart ached as I heard his name. I longed for him to be here sitting next to me. It seemed like ages since I last saw him. My gaze dropped to the floor as I thought about what he might've been doing. If he thought I was dead, or knew that I survived the crash.

If he wondered where I was. If he missed me.

"Well we need to get Jace and Carter out of there." When I looked up, Cam had a smirk on his lips and he looked at me. "I have a plan."
