"Come on, it doesn't smell that bad." Andrei was holding his nose dramatically, trying to avoid the smell of the pungent kimchi. I didn't mind the smell of kimchi since I've practically grown up with it. I held the kimchi and started cutting it with a pair of scissors. Yes, I cut them with scissors. I cut it in a bowl to keep the kimchi juices rather than losing it on the chopping board.

"Are you kidding me?" Andrei scrunches up his face as if the smell repelled him. He was acting like a little kid, a kid that was picky about his food. I continued to cut the kimchi with my scissors into big chunks. I prepare the remaining ingredients for the kimchi pork stew. Andrei was not much help, he didn't really do much besides standing against the table with his eyes roaming around the shared kitchen.

A group of girls were nearby us at the other kitchen element cooking their dinner. I could tell from the sound of their squeals that they must have noticed Andrei's presence. I switched my focus back onto making the stew. After placing all the ingredients into the pot, I left it to simmer for a few minutes. I awkwardly leaned against the counter waiting for the stew to come together.

"So, now we wait for a few minutes, let the pork cook and flavours stew together." I closed the lid and switched to a medium heat. I finally looked over at where Andrei should've been standing, instead I see nothing. How long was I talking to myself for? I didn't even hear him leave from his spot. My eyes roam around the shared kitchen where my eyes landed on him surrounded by the group of girls from earlier.

He towered over the group of girls, smiling at them with a lazy boyish smile. He said something that I couldn't make out but whatever he said warranted a high pitch laugh from the group. I scoffed at the image in front of me and turned my focus back onto my stew. I opened the lid slowly and saw that it was coming together nicely. It was almost done, I added the remaining spring onions before turning the heat off.

I looked over at Andrei and saw that his eyes were already on me. I motioned my hands for him to come over. He said something to the group of girls before making his way back to me. It was the group of girls suddenly noticed my existence when all their heads whip towards my direction at the same time. The small hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I noticed the glare from the group. Some of them look more pissed than the others.

"Is it finished?" Andrei arrives on my side and looks over my shoulder at the pot behind me. He lifts the lid and his eyes lit up. The steam coming towards his face and get sniffed the aroma of the stew. I looked up at him with a curious look wondering if it smelled good to him since he didn't like the smell of kimchi on its own.

"It smells delicious." I smiled at his reaction for the stew.

"Thanks, I was worried that you wouldn't like it," I confessed, the worry in my face dropping.
