❝She knew she loved him when 'home' went from being a place to being a person. ❞

I reluctantly allowed Andrei to tag along to have breakfast with Mason and I. It didn't want to be rude and say that he wasn't allowed to join us. Even if he was acting like a jerk sometimes. I guess I would be introducing Mason to Andrei sooner or later since he was my roommate.
Andrei and I stepped out of our room, closing the door behind me. "We're meeting my friend in the main campus area," I told Andrei as I make sure that our door is locked. Andrei responded back in the form of a grunt. After making sure that our door was locked, I turned around to see Andrei staring at me. He must've been wondering why I was so pedantic over a door. Ever since the break-in that we had in our family home a few weeks ago, I've been extra cautious on making sure that doors are locked and windows are shut. I didn't want a repeat of what happened in one home to happen in the dorm room.
"Sorry. I'm just a bit OCD about this stuff," I said as my hands' gesture around the door. There wasn't much of a reaction from Andrei to my explanation. I chuckled awkwardly to cut the uncomfortable tension between us. "Anyways, let's go," I said, trying to get moving.
We were walking down the hallway. Some doors were opened and we could see that people are finally beginning to move into the dorms. I was one of the early birds that moved in earlier in the week. The popular time to move into the dorms was during the middle of the week. It allowed people to settle down in time but didn't feel like they had to wait too long until classes started.
There was a girl walking down the hallway, towards the direction of Andrei and I. Her face was not visible as she was carrying some very large boxes that covered her face. She was wobbling, looking like she was about to lose her balance with those boxes in her arms. I could see that the boxes were about to topple over so I quickly rushed over to her aid. I managed to reach her in time and grabbing the top box off her.
"Woah there," I said as I'm about to grab the top box, allowing the girl to find her balance again. As I lift the top box off, I saw a pair of green eyes staring back at me. The girl had wavy brown hair that was tied in a messy top bun. She gave me a smile when she finally regains her balance.
"Thank you so much," she gushed. "I should've made two trips. But, I overestimated my ability to carry all of this," she said as she lifts up the remaining boxes in her arms.
"No problem. Where's your room? I'll help you carry this box," I said, lifting the box that I was holding onto.
"I'll carry it," a deep voice said from behind me. I turned around and saw that Andrei was standing very close to me. He took the box I was carrying without hesitation. I mumbled thanks to Andrei before turning back to the girl.
