Ashes and blood, that's all that stood where my pack once resided. I had only been gone a few hours, I needed to run. My mother and I had gotten into an argument, the reason is lost on me as I look back to that day. It was late, far too late for a nearly 18 year old, mateless she-wolf to be out alone. But I didn't care, I was stubborn. But as I made my way home the sight that befell me was catastrophic. Warriors, woman, children and elderly alike, faces that I had known, faces that I had cared for, littered the blood covered ground.
We were a small pack, no more than 200 or so wolves... we were no match for the soulless beasts. They had been grouping in the forest near us for a while... it was only a matter of time before something happened but this, this was beyond what I thought possible. The world spins as I collapse onto my knees, as it all becomes too much. The only sound filling the eerie silence, are my uncontrollable sobs. I had lost everything, my family, my friends and my home. Everything I knew was ripped from me in the blink of an eye.
My breath catches in my throat as the sound of vicious snarling breaks into my hearing. No more than 20 feet in front of me stood a giant wolf, blood dripped from its threatening mouth. Complete terror washes over me, as my blood runs cold. Without thinking, I get up and run. The sounds of paws harshly padding against the forest floor follows behind me as I will my legs to push faster.
I can't die, not like this. For my parents sake, for my packs sake, I have to survive. I was running for I do not know how long, but eventually the sound of my assailant vanishes. Relief washes over me but it is short lived as the realisation of where I had ran to hits me. I had crossed into pack territory. I can't turn back, the rouge will find me but I can't stay here, if I'm found i'll be taken, worst case, killed. I was technically a rouge now and packs do not take kindly to trespassers, especially when those trespassers happen to be rouges.
"Well well well, what do we have here boys?"
My heart drops as I'm circled by four of the largest men I had ever seen. Realisation hits me like a tone of bricks... this wasn't just any pack... I had crossed into Dark Lake territory. Shivers wrack my body as the men continue to circle me, their eyes coldy assessing me for any sudden movements.
The warriors from my pack couldn't hold a candle to the sheer size of these wolves. They reeked of power and it made bile rise to my throat but I swallow down the nausea, as I try to remain calm. Well as calm as you can be in such a situation.
"It seems a little rogue has stumbled somewhere she shouldn't have."
A menacing smile, that made my stomach roll, flashed across one of the men's faces as he spoke.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I d-didn't mean to tre-trespass."
I tried to steady my voice as much as possible, but it was no use. My fear clearly shone through, seeming to spur the men on.
"P-please let me l-leave."
I knew it was pointless, but I had to try. I didn't know where I would go if I did manage to convince them to let me leave, but I knew that allowing them to take me was going to be far worse than what awaits me out there.
"Oh no little she wolf, you aren't going anywhere."
Before I could even try and make a run for it, one of the unnaturally large men grabs me, before slinging me over their shoulder.
Pure panic and terror fills me like never before, as I'm carried further into Dark lake territory. No amount of screaming, kicking, or punches, seems to phase the brute. I mentally curse at myself for being too weak. I was an omega and although I could shift, my wolf was small. My parents were Omegas too, in fact most of my pack consisted of omegas. We were peaceful, the few stronger wolves that were born into our pack, became warriors. These wolved were normally of some sort of Alpha lineage. The rest of us lived normal lives, working around the pack to keep things running smoothly. The thoughts of my pack brought tears to my eyes, but I quickly shut them down. I wont cry in front of these wolves; I wont let them see me any weaker than I already am.
