"Hello, mate..."
In the door way, of the little diner, stood the very thing I feared the most. His piercing blue gaze kept me frozen in place. My palms were sweating and I'm almost certain my face was as pale as a ghost.
He went to take a step toward me and my body moved on it's own. Reaching behind the counter, I grabbed a hold of a large and rather sharp cake knife. I knew that it wouldn't do much in the way of hurting him, but it could slow him down and that may just make the difference between my freedom and going back to that hell.
He raised his hands as if to say he means me no harm, but I don't fall for it, not for one second.
"What do you want, Darius?..."
His eyebrows knot together as he takes a small step towards me, to which I back up and tighten my hold on the now shaking weapon.
"I think you know exactly why I'm here, Cassady."
His voice is smooth and controlled, as if he's talking to a ticking time bomb. I guess in his eye's, I do look unstable an unpredictable. Who could blame me?... This man terrifies me to no end.
"I won't go back... you can't make me."
I all but bite out, through my trembling lips.
His jaw visibly ticks and I know it's his wolf. Alpha male's do not handle disobedience well... especially when the person going against you, is your mate.
"You're my mate Cassady, you belong at my side. My pack needs their Luna."
I shake my head as the trembling gets worse. The mere thought of that pack sends shivers down my spine. What's to say the same thing wont happen again? They've done it once before.
He closes his eyes for a second before taking a long, deep sigh, as if to calm himself down.
"Cassady... you're coming with me and that's final."
He stalks over to me with purpose. I was like a rabbit being hunted by a fox, well in this case, the big, bad wolf.
I back up but my back hits the wall. Before I can run, he's right in front of me, effectively disarming me and cornering me between him and the cold wall.
I try pushing his chest, hitting and screaming for him to leave me alone but nothing works, he's too strong.
"Calm down, please. I'm not going to hurt you."
I don't listen and keep up with my attacks.
Suddenly the Alpha grabs a hold of my wrists, effortlessly pinning my much smaller arms above my head, with one of his large hands.
I try to wriggle and free myself from his vice grip, but again, it's no use.
I look down in defeat, whilst trying my best to breathe and not have some sort of panic attack.
He grabs my chin and makes me look him in the eye's.
his eye's were calm and not giving anything away but they soften slightly at the sight of my wide glossy eye's.
"Breathe Cassady, no one is going to hurt you."
"Please... please don't make me go back."
My voice come's out weak and I hate it. I have to be stronger than this, but in this moment, I feel so defeated. I know there's no way out of this and it makes me feel hopeless.
his eye's linger on my face, taking in all my features before I'm quickly swung over his toned, broad shoulders and carried out of the diner, kicking and screaming.
